Of course GV works with iPhones. Not worried about being judged. iMessage works better in group chats and media isn't overly compressed as in android. and people will think I'm mental for changing numbers every 3 months. Haha. I just wish EVERYONE would use WhatsApp. Rest of the world does.
iMessage using your email and then it won't matter what your phone number is.

If your friend wants a cheaper option with unlimited calling and text without data… I use textnow for my sons phone (12yr old). $1 sim and phone number and free service month over month.

Why not MobileX then?

If your device uses GSMA (Att) antennas, redpocket just had a special for 5gb a month for $120. If you have GSMT (T-MOBILE) you get the same but 4G LTE (not 5G).
How do you get 120/year?

Yes. Aware of that, but would prefer to give people my phone number instead of an email address for iMessage. If Android include me in group chats with an email address, I won't get the text. Trust me...I thought of everything.

Of course it wouldn't work - if you have email what server would relay to iMessage when they send to the email without using iMessage?!?

iMessage is an app like other messenger but it's also the app for texting, iPhone users have similar experience to other messenger apps that don't require cell, but it also receives the sms/mms/rcs message types.

It'd be like if Facebook messenger allowed you to get text messages and messages from fb users in one app.

You assume everyone is on iPhone. This is incorrect. If somebody messages you to email
Address and they aren't using iMessage, how would that non-iMessage app know to send the message to iMessage? All messenging apps have their own servers they don't talk like sms/mms and NOW RCS (apple just adopted that standard)

Thanks. Just set it up for my uncles kid.

Told them to ALWAYS be on WiFi or else no data 🤷🏻 ♂️

Used a cheap iPhone 11 from those Tracfone deals

Slow speeds after high speed data allotment.

You can get 1GB (with slow speeds afterwards) @ $5/mo, paid yearly, via Good2Go Mobile.

nice yeah good2go comes out to like $74 after fees though so more like $6.16/month, wonder what this one comes out to.

luckily with good2go you can get a $10 ref credit not sure if this one offers anything like that.

wonder how they compare ultimately.

thinking of it, T-Mobile offers 30GB for $10/month so that might be better than this if one is willing to use voip for calling

Yeah once price goes up that's garbage rate. Boost is $15 month for 5GB when pay $45 per 3 months

First 3 months is $15 total

Afaik that's only for hotspot devices. Presumably everything else is locked out by IMEI.

Last when I called them (before t-mobile move), I was asked the reason and was transferred to some specialty team and was there for 20 mins or so.

What reason did you give them(I mistakenly said I want to move out for better cell reception)?

That's easy. I've ported from mint 3 times. You don't have to call, you just chat.
