Energy star estimates this unit costs ~30 bucks a year to run at average electricity costs (12 cents per kWh). Just posting incase anyone is curious.

Just know that it absolutely will arrive damaged. I've tried getting 3 freezers from Wal-Mart, all took weeks to get returned. Save all of your packaging and have a vehicle big enough to transport it when it arrives with a huge hole in the side. I watched my last one being rolled end over end up my driveway. Big surprise, none of them worked.

I have the smaller version and kept it in a garage. Not in Texas but another state that gets hot in the summer. It worked fine.

For reference, I now keep it at the lowest setting in my house and everything is frozen solid.

But you never know…

Where is that number based on averages for a unit of this size?

Seems iffy to order it for delivery... 600/4000 reviews give it a 1 star, and almost all of those are for the item arriving badly damaged. Plus it seems your only recourse is to actually physically return the item to the store... so unless you have a way to do that you might be out of luck.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insi...Id=6385046

Best Buy does have similar for $40 more. If you select Delivery + installation it's an extra $25, though I believe that will be refunded to you after they just drop it off.

I bought one of these several months ago when it was on sale (I think similar price). Delivery was awesome... no FEDEX. They scheduled a delivery with me, and two people unloaded the thing, brought it right inside the door for me.

Box looked great, freezer looked good. No dents.

A couple days later they refunded me the money I paid for the delivery + installation (I didn't ask... just happened). I assume that's because they didn't actually install anything - just dropped it off and left.

So while this is a bit more than the Walmart deal, it might be worth it since it seems your likelihood of getting a damaged freezer is very high.

I now stopped ordering from Walmart after I was flagged by Walmart for excessive returns. I used it only 2 times, that too because I had purchased warranty from All-State through them. If I cannot use the warranty, what is the purpose of purchasing one?
