This is an ok deal. Costco had the 128 GB version with ethernet for $100 a few months ago.
If you're like me, and want the 128 GB + ethernet model now, and don't want wait for costco or wherever to drop the price again, you can do what I did.
I ordered the 128 gb version from Apple, which is currently is offering a $25 gift card with purchase of any apple tv.
I paid with $150 in apple gcs that I ordered from citi thank you points, which are 20% off.
So I got the $150 apple tv 4k for $120 in citi ty points, and will net out to $95 (plus tax) after the $25 gc from apple.
You could do the same for the wifi version, and it would effectively be $79 (plus tax). But for $16 more, you might as well buy the 128 gb version.

FYI, for those who may be interested in a more future proof Apple Home (homekit) functionality, this model does not support the newer Thread protocol for Matter.
Only the 3rd gen 128 GB has Thread support.

Where is the $25 Gift Card for purchase of apple TV?
FYI, for those who may be interested in Apple Home (homekit) functionality, this model does not support being used as an Apple Home hub and lacks Matter/Thread support.
For the 3rd gen Apple TV's, only the 128 GB has Apple Home support.
I believe this incorrect information. Both versions support the HomeHub but only 128GB version is Thread Border Router.
Picked up one for $99 (same deal) from Costco last week for use in my bedroom (don't have Ethernet ports, so this is ideal). Works and performs the same as my 128G model I use in the TV room. The only difference is the remote is now charged with USB-C instead of a lightning port.

Feature gated forcing people to buy the more expensive model? Typical Apple. All specs are the same besides the ethernet and storage.

Note that this 3rd gen 64gb model doesnt come with ethernet, you need to upgrade to 128gb to get that :c

Deal ends today.
Updated my post. 👍
Couple that with Target Red Card or Amazon's Prime card for an additional 5% cash back.
And finally today is the last day Apple.com is offering $25 Apple gift card with the 128 GB Apple TV 4K purchase.
So that's:
$150
- $25 Apple gift card
- $15 Target/Amazon store credit
- $7.5 (5% cash back)
= $102.50 (before tax)
