Nice, the 14 piece made the FP for 8 more bucks. However, the reviews are horrible and the pics after only 2 months show really bad rust on handles and blades. So I'm out.

i got this set because i tried restoring my mothers kitchenaid mixer from 40 years ago and assumed the quality would be good and the ratings were good. Not good at all, rust spots on the blades, not the sharpest when cutting onions. Waste of money. Anyone with suggestions on a good set??? I just started getting into cooking after 13 years of chronic and severe lower / upper back pain kept me out of the kitchen because i couldn't stand. Pain free now and cooking up a storm!!!! looking to buy an awesome set that will last a long time

Other than the actual stand mixers, I think everything else they make is average to below average quality. They are owned by Whirlpool - I like Whirlpool but it gives you an idea of how wide their manufacturing reach is.

Check out this set. This deal is expired, but seems to have great reviews. The built-in sharpener is also definitely a plus.

Are you set on an actual "set"? For me, an 8-inch chef's knife, a 4-inch paring knife, and a bread knife completely cover all my needs, probably in an 80/15/5% ratio. The bread knife I have is pretty generic, but the chef's and paring are Victorinox and only set me back probably $55 total. They do the job, and I like the feel of the handle texture.
Okay, just checked. At the moment, chef's is $38 and paring is $12, so $50 +tax for both. Probably another $30 for the bread knife if you go the Victorinox route, but I haven't bothered.
thanks for the replies. I just actually talked to walmart customer service last night and i asked for a refund do to rusty knives and they gave it on the spot and i didn't even have to return them. I said i was unhappy with the rusty knives and i didn't have the box to return them and i was very nice about it.
Anyways now i can focus on upgrading the knives, a full set is not needed but i want an awesome chef's knife and maybe a bread knife mainly because i'm getting into making bread. Pairing knife and maybe a second chef knive for when i go crazy and cook 4 meals in a day and don't want to clean the knife that is dirty.
I have heard good things about victorinox fibrox, i will have to do some research but the ones you linked seem very reasonable!!!

A much better deal as the knives are forged instead of stamped and full tang w triple rivets.
This is the cheaper model similar to the Walmart set that's been $40 all week.
Don't think there's a knife set on Amazon that doesn't have "they rusted in a week" type reviews, people are.. people.

also i am not sure about the steak knives. i dont think they are full tang and it makes me wonder if the rivets are purely cosmetic
