I am a little too dense to understand this concept, would you mind elaborating?
The cashback is sent to your PayPal account that you can then transfer to the bank of you choice. It can go to a checking account if you want. Mine goes directly to my high yield savings account.

I linked my Chase Freedom to Paypal and bought a $500 VISA gift card at CVS. After the activation fee of $5.95, it ended being a 5.89% return.
Unfortunately, the three CVS pharmacies nearest me had clamped down using Paypal to buy gift cards, and I found out too late one that would let me.
This spread is the real beauty of the card. I withhold the bare minimum with employer and pay estimated taxes instead.
On top of that I live in a city that PayPal Bill Pay supports for property tax.
if you get your cashback (lets just say $100) as a credit on the account, it reduces how much will be used to determine next month's 2% ($2 in this example) cashback. So, it works against your interests.
