I haven't used these directly, but do like a lot of Govee's products. As user RROMAN mentioned, with Dreamview their products are great and it is the feature none of the imitation lights can match, other than Nanoleaf/Hue.

Dreamview uses a camera or HDMI box to detect the colors on your TV and extend those colors to other Govee devices and really adds to my home theater setup. The core device for this is their T1/T2 cameras with T3 just coming out which includes a camera that sits on top of the TV and light strips for the back of the TV to create bias lighting. You can add in other products and assign them to match one of the 16 zones around the edge of the TV. Personally, I have 2 of their Lyra floor lamps on either side of the TV behind the tower speakers to extend the lighting effect. I have their bulbs in my ceiling light but found them distracting with Dreamview and removed them from the group due to them being just overhead and not in the best position for that. Watching vibrant movies like Into the Spiderverse with these improves the experience greatly as the whole wall lights up red/blue/etc to extend the edges of the screen.

Something like the featured products could have the panels match the colors on screen as well. Personally, I find the direct lighting more distracting and don't want to see the source which is why I stick to bias lighting versions, but for those that enjoy it these are great lights. Their Dreamview stuff is well worth looking into and worth the $100-150 price tag. I would suggest the T3 model and am personally waiting for the T3 in the 77in size to release as the T3 adds more white lighting to the strip so colors like yellow come through better and brighter to reduce any red/orange tones it may have when watching something like Dune with a lot of tan/yellow sand on screen so it matches more accurately.

The GE ones from Lowes were awful. They're like 2 inches thick and no app. It was $10 but felt more like it belonged at five below

I thought something like the gay2 would be cheaper. I got a GE set for my son, hexagon color changing things for like 15 bucks. No everything is so expensive. What's up with that?

i think i got some of those same GE hex panels a while back. they are just basic 'dumb' (not smart) panels with a remote control. they were $25 on sale, but now are $35.

These are smart lights with many features to where those were lights with a button and preprogrammed colors.
