These are made for activity/running - the materials wick and evaporate moisture quickly.

What's wrong with "plastic" shirt, assuming you were being sarcastic?

more and more people are staying away from synthetic fibers because of microplastics. they shed when you wash them and go in our water supply. also you likely unknowingly inhale/consume these fibers when they shed from your clothes and go into the air.
i'm not sure if there's any effect from skin contact, but increasingly more people are opting for natural fibers.
that being said i still use these synthetic fabrics because i enjoy their moisture wicking properties and how they generally feel. i own one of these half zips and like it a lot.

Plastic lasts longer than paper though.

Sure, earthy crunchy people are changing their clothes but there is no reasonable net impact win. Either microplastics or water taken to water cotton, and fertilizer on the ground to create vernal blooms, or animal rights groups protesting against harvesting wool. The largest way to survive holistic impact is to live like a tiny house person and only have a few changes of clothes. Fast fashion and cheap clothes are the issue, not high quality clothes that may contribute to microplastics.

i don't really agree. it's pretty obvious if there was a home with natural fibers and materials like wool/cotton along with wood floors and using natural cleaners/detergents there'd arguably be health benefits. there's a reason why hormone imbalances are so much more prevalent these days. look at any video of a high school in the US in the 90's or any decade prior and see how different people's features were. there's something going on with our food/water/materials and i don't blame people for wanting to return to more natural products.

I started reading your post and wanted to give you a thumbs down, but you are so right. The problem with break neck growth ensures that no matter how cheap or expensive the goods are, it will have a negative impact on our environment and society. The only way is to check out from being influenced by the influencers, fashion elites and buying, which would in a way defeat the purpose of Slickdeals and most websites.
