I had been looking around for a deal for the Pixel 8 this Black Friday cycle, and was very disappointed at the offers currently available. Everything T-Mobile offered required the overpriced Go5G plans, which I was not willing to change to.

I was going to pull the trigger on the Google Store deal, which would have been $649 - $250 trade in value for the Pixel 6 which would have been $300 out of pocket, not bad, but not great either.

I tried ordering through T-Mobile and was surprised the Magenta Plans qualified for the $500 enhanced trade-in value. Total out of pocket would have been $199 (spread over 24 months), a $35 activation fee, and tax on the full price of the phone. I remembered Costco having some extra offers for T-Mobile and called the number from the Costco page to see what they would offer. To my surprise, they offered an additional $75 Costco Gift card 3-4 weeks after the end of the return period and a waived activation fee.

You can see if you plan is eligible by just going through the order process on T-Mobile's site or in app. The Costco number is listed on their website: https://www.costco.com/t-mobile-b...wcase.html

Go5G is definitely not cheaper with more lines (as a blanket) for many people in older plans etc. they've locked out all the older Magenta/One etc plans thanks to new ones. Just another way to not force but motivate people to migrate. Good to see nice trade in values now and then though

If you consider you get a new phone upgrade every 2 years it works out to be much cheaper. If you keep your phone for a longer period of time, it's likely not worth it.

Why do you think the Go5G plans are overpriced?
Because there are cheaper options???

It's not only how often you change phones. But also how many lines you have in your account. Individual situations may vary, but with 10 line upgrades, I think go5gplus is worth it for me.

Similar situation, I have 4 lines and if I'm looking at it correctly, it's worth it for me.

Nothing on the web site say this can be used with plans other than Go5G.... how do you know the Magenta plan works and not that they converted your account?

OP , Can i just get a new T mobile line through Costco and pay off the phone in a month and get it unlocked? Am not with Tmobile.
Even i was looking for a deal on Pixel 8 pro and was evaluating getting from Google, exactly as you described.

Those that are saying Go5G is cheaper with 3+ lines are ludicrous. I pay $110 for 10 lines on Simple Choice. Go5G would be $300+.

So are you saying that I can get $500 off on a Pixel 8 on my old ONE Plan by calling that number?

Do you get 10 phone upgrades every 2 years on your $110 plan? It all depends on how you look at the cost. Just service or the cost of time for service and hardware.
