Did you go into your account and add the new cameras to Cam Plus Lite?
WOW! Thanks for this. I thought I had checked everywhere. Then I read your post and went on a deep dive. Had to "add cam" and then check it. I asked customer service and was told that it wasn't available. Yikes. Thanks again!
I tested them side by side and when nothing is moving they're similar, but as soon as there is motion the v3 is total garbage. Even rain makes it all blurry and blotchy. Saw the same in some video reviews as well. OG is a big step up in video quality (even though it is over 99% compression ratio, the v3 must be more like 99.99999%).
Not if you buy an SD designed for it. The samsung pro endurance I got ($12 for 128G) have 5 year continuous writing warranty. The cards not designed for it specifically exclude continuous video use from their warranty.
The OG writes about 9MB per minute. At that rate, based on Samsung's specs, it should last 15-20 years. But if I get the 5 years out of each, I'll be perfectly happy for that price.
Sandisk and others also have ones designed for continuous write/video. I have old Sandisk Pro 32GB ones in both my car dash cams for about 8 years now, granted I don't do a ton of driving but they're exposed to a lot of heat and cold and those cameras write around 50MB per minute (more than 5x) and still going strong.
Been 24/7 recording on 3 wyze Cams since the original came out (at least 5 years now) and none of my microSD cards have failed (one is a 32GB Samsung high endurance, one is a free 32GB microcenter one, and the other is a normal 32GB samsung)...
so no...24/7 absolutely does NOT "destroy it quickly"
On higher quality cams it would destroy the ones not designed for it, but my Wyze cams all write around 9MB per minute which is pretty low, I'm assuming all their cams are about that amount. But I did get the samsung endurance for piece of mind (except a couple I have that are motion only, just regular SD cards in those).

Imagine flexing on slickdeals that you bashed a camera with a hammer for no reason other than you're a complete dork. Did the ladies come pounding down your door after being so impressed by your masculinity?
One dork/cheapskate bashing another in an Internet forum...so sad.

You're welcome. I used Cam Plus Lite for years and had to dig in the settings too.

- Some would say better image quality as well
