General vs Absolute: The main difference between the models is the built in crevice tool into the want and a more advanced HEPA filter due to a change in EU HEPA standards. Absolute has .01 micron filtration (cyan blue filters), where the old one has .03 filtration (purple filters). I would suggest buying the absolute version due to the better HEPA filter and the connivence of the built in crevice tool. If anyone knows of other differences, please let me know.
General vs Outsize: Outsize Dysons are a larger format of the version provided. They allow for longer runtimes, extra capacity, and usually have larger versions of the cleaner and motorbars. The suction should theoretically be similar as the power of the motor is increased as well. This variant would be well suited to cleaning a large house in one go compared to having to swap batteries and empty the canister, as well as reducing time due to the larger motorbar heads. (Important to note, you would not want to attempt to purchase the larger size vacuum motorbars for non outsize versions as it would likely reduce suction)
Airwatts (AW): Air watts are calculated using the formula, (Air Flow (in CFM) x Vacuum (in inches of water lift))/8.5 = Air Watts. Dyson uses this forumula to determine their power of the vacuum, but some argue this may be misleading. https://www.bestvacuum.com/pages/...ifications
Please someone tell me why, why anyone needs a $750 dollar vacuum on sale for more than the price of two of their lower priced still extremely expensive models? I like nice things and I appreciate quality but doesn't this model make you think at the very least the v8 v10 etc are not worth it?
So your point is price is too high and corded vacuums last longer?
But there are houses which are large / houses which have difficult to reach places / houses with long staircases, there are many reasons why cordless vacuums are a life-saver for places like that.
You may need one product for a small city apartment and another one for a large multi story home in the country.
This thread is for half a grand vacuum that shoots laser beams (literally).... but Dyson v11 could be had this week for as low as $223 after coupons, click through cashback sites and using specific methods of payment, as discussed in other SlickDeals threads for it.
If money's a concern, that's a lot less expensive - and a slicker deal, considering Dyson v11 "blows" away all competition in that price range.
There is always someone who wants to sell you a better vacuum. When I was a kid it was Kirby.
Bought this from Costco with their cash back it was worth it. Also have v8 like the weight of the v8, both suck this is more powerful and comes with more heads but not sure I would pay more than 550 after tax for it. This is good price from Walmart

I ended up ordering from Dyson , to take advantage of the cb from top and also amex 2% cb. Also , in terms of extended warranty of Costco, I read that warranty is not applicable for cordless devices !!!
Yes, the warranty from Dyson is still the same (2 years). However, buying from Costco is still the better option since you can return it if there is an issue and it's not limited to 90 days like other items.
I cannot stress enough how any price is too much for a Dyson. My wife just had to have one of these things awhile back so I got the V12 Animal when it was new on their Christmas special. It only had "decent" power on the highest setting in which the battery lasted 3 mins. The battery was dead within a year to top it off. I replaced it with a no name Amazon one that actually lasted about 15mins at a time. It never dealt well with dog hair and even with constant filter replacements, it always smelled bad when running. I just bought the newest Ryobi stick vac and I'm quite impressed with it. Ton of power and sucks up dog hair without an issue. My wife bought some weird brand on Amazon recently that gets great reviews for $120 on sale. That little thing is also pretty good. Not as much power as the Ryobi, but better balanced than the Ryobi. Whatever you do, never buy a Dyson. Overrated, overpriced, underperforming trash. Quite possibly the worst vacuums ever made.

It really is. You mention "through website" and "favorite cash back site" and no idea what you're referencing. I'm sorry I don't lurk in the comments every day, but whatever makes you feel special and in the know.
I think the issue isn't that you aren't "in the know," but that you're being rude and demanding, in case that weren't clear. You could use more words to be nicer to others.

So I ended up jumping on the Costco deal (though maybe would have preferred this one with the extendable crevice tool but whatever, not worth the hassle to return). My wife and I bought a v8 many years ago refurbished from official Dyson EBAY. It was pricey even then but what we loved about the v8 was the extreme portability and how well it worked across our non-carpeted floors and all the low pile rugs we had. We don't have any carpet in the house and dyson was awesome on the hard floors. We didn't like how small the canister was and how quick the battery went out.
We saw this one and thought we couldn't possible want a $500 vacuum. Knowing Costco's return policy we took a chance and wow.
a) the v15 has an amazing battery. We can now cover the whole house in less than half a charge easily. We could only get a couple rooms done with the old one so it was more of a spot cleaning tool than a dedicated cleaning day thing. This battery life completely changes that game
b) the suction is amazing. Soooo much better than the V8. I don't know how they managed both increased suction and increased power but that's the magic of Dyson I guess.
c) the canister is more than large enough for the whole house. Great upgrade
d) the fluffy head with the detect laser is a gamechanger. I cringe how dirty our floors actually are when I run that thing. It's a double edged sword because now I do a quick pass across the major traffic areas at least three times a week. The laser shows all and it isn't pretty. But back to the amazing suction, I see the particles disappear with ease.
It is night and day compared to the v8 and having used an off brand knock off before, it is leaps above.
Now it's still $500. That's a significant expense when you can hit Walmart and get a standard plug in for way less. But if you have the money, have mostly hardwood/LVP/laminate/rugs flooring and prefer the pick up and go convenience of a battery powered system with every attachment imaginable, it's a huge upgrade.

Is this model compatible with the new submarine attachment? I believe the Costco deal version wasn't.
From everything I've read, only the submarine model is compatible with that particular attachment. It's too bad. I would love it.
Sebo felix is great. At this price point, you could get sebo dart, which is a bit dumbed down version of felix but they are mostly the same. You just can't beat their 10 year warranty. All their parts are replaceable. Down vote me all you want and regret when this garbage dies on you in a year or two. Thank me once you get a sebo that can last you a lifetime.
I've had a Dyson V8 for seven years now and it's been great. I've replaced the battery exactly zero times. Also just because it's not Boomer tech doesn't mean it's not serviceable. I've taken it apart for for deep cleaning the parts quite a few times over the years. It's actually incredibly easy to service and spare parts are readily available. It is, in fact, the absolute best vacuum I've ever had for long hair because of how easy it is to take apart. Most brands focus on how well vacuums pick up hair: that's dumb, and if that's your metric, you obviously don't have to deal with long hair. The determining factor is how well and easy you can get the hair out because no matter what vacuum you have, it will clog the head eventually, and that part is the big pain in the ass, until I got the Dyson.
But feel free to keep getting angry at people not liking what you like on the Internet though. I'm sure that's working out great for you.
