Good price, well made. Be sure not to get the shelves wet.. compressed wood fibers expand like foam and weaken.

How does this compare to the more industrial shelves that the big box stores (HD, Lowes) sell for $200-$500? I know it's not a fair comparison, but I do want something that's going to be good for years of storage in the back of the garage. Are these quite sturdy and durable (given the caveat above about not getting the shelves wet)?

Finally something with boards as shelves. I have a similar unit to this from another brand that instead uses a metal rack instead of boards. Was not impressed and it did not handle weight well at all as several of the shelves buckled (was still WAY under the stated weight limit per shelf). Hopefully that changes with flat boards that won't bend. In for 2!

As long as there is something other than a rack, as pictured, I'm down to try it out. These would bend under 20lbs of weight and basically ruins the entire shelf.Attachment 14648149Also when I reached out to the merchant, they told me to file a dispute with my bank. Didn't offer a refund or replacement.

I feel like I can give one good kick and if the shelves were fully loaded, the thing would buckle onto itself.

I'd say light duty. It can hold the stated weight but you would have to perfectly distribute it evenly across the shelf.

I have some of these in my garage/basement. They are very high quality and support a lot of weight. They are against a wall and i'm not really pushing them around but they stand up right really well even with items on it. I put the big tall and heavy stuff on top since I have high ceilings and no issue. You can however find some nails/screws and put it to the wall for extra support.

I believe you. But it's quite wobbly also. It'll get the job done for sure but I wouldn't want to put this in a high traffic spot or anything.

I've got one tucked in a corner, not worried about hitting it.

In for 3. Not using it for heavy items so it's perfect for me.

This is a good price point if it's not for anything heavy. If you YouTube building your own 8 foot by 24 deep shelf it's about the same cost in materials.

yes agreed, as long as you don't see anyone hitting it over or running into it for some reason it's all good.

I have several of these, they are pretty sturdy for indoor/garage use.
