I bought a 1TB variant from woot (through Amazon) for $1500 a month ago.

Apple refurb, basically as new except the refurb box. it had single digit battery cycle count. Comes with remaining warranty until 04/24. This is the lowest price you will find for a 16" with easy returns. I also looked at newer Macbook 16" and they are far worse value. So if you are looking for this form factor, it's unlikely to get much cheaper than this.

I already bought the 1tb M1 Pro, as that suits my need. I would have bought the M3 Pro for 1799, if it were 1tb. My point was towards those who are looking for 1tb vs 512

Refurbishment was performed by Apple. You are supposed to be able to register the computer directly with Apple and there are steps that Woot highlights to do this. If you have any issues, Woot will assist in getting this registered with Apple.

Apple provides a one year warranty for certified refurbished products from their refurbished store. I'd feel more comfortable knowing this was the case for this product.

Apple also allows you to purchase AppleCare+ for certified refurbished products. I'd also feel more comfortable knowing that this was the case for this product.

I love my 14 inch 10 core 14 512/16gb that I got for 1079, 2 of them open boxes. Hard to want to pay more now since works fine for me

Maybe one day if I ever need a desktop for work or something
