I gave google hardware too many chances and always got disappointed. I got the Nest WiFi 2nd gen and kept having issues with intermittent disconnects and reconnects. Finally dumped it and got eero 6 plus and couldn't be happier.

Google software is terribly confusing. It was a nightmare controlling everything from google home app.

You might just got a lemon. I'm on the original Google wifi since it came out...always working great...after all those years when our devices in the home got upgraded to be wifi 6 capable, I still don't want to throw them away to upgrade...

Original was one of the most reliable router setups there was, but the 2nd gen is known to have issues.

Identical experience and am not longer looking to buy another Google Wifi device as their Firmware upgrades break stuff constantly and is a known issue with hundreds of threads and Google wont do anything about it.

Shelling out almost $300 on TPLink AX5400 from Costco to correct the headaches.

Currently has a wifi6 mesh. Wifi7 is coming out next year. I'll wait this out and get a wifi 7 next year when it comes out.

I hope they won't push out new wifi standards or protocols or whatever that is every year...I'm not utilize the wifi 6 capabilities on our newer phones and tablets in the house being with the original Google wifi plugs...tbh I'm waiting for them to die so I can upgrade... hopefully by the time they adopt wifi29...
My modem the sb6183 died and I replaced with the same one 3 years ago when Best buy was having a clearance sale...
