For the burgers or sandwich deals that has a $1 spending requirement, you can soup up the burger or the sandwich with extras. For example, tomorrow I will add the cheeseburger offer, and modify the cheeseburger. My local BK charges 50 cents for extra tomatoes and 50 cents for extra lettuce. Boom! That's a cheeseburger on steroid for $1 with nothing else to buy.
They used to have the add bacon for $1 option, but they changed it so that if you add bacon, it automatically changes to the bacon cheeseburger which is not what the offer calls for. But you can do tomato, onions, lettuce, extra cheese, and pickle on top of the cheeseburger.
Original chicken sandwich (Dec 29) is easy. In addition to the toppings I just mentioned for mod, you also have cheese and bacon. So you have a lot more options to soup up the chicken sandwich for $1.
I know I can order two cookies for $1.50 and normal cheeseburger for free. I just don't like their cookies. I also don't like their nuggets so I'm not going to pay $2 for 4 pieces just to get a free cheeseburger. But if you are wondering what you should buy for $1, that's my trick.
You're welcome.
So if you get those and the free crowns on 2 other days, that's a total of ...666 free crowns. Lol.
Anyways, between this event and the two over the last months (Halloween and Football), they've given away about 1500~1700 crowns. That's a lot of free food. I've generally found cheeseburgers (or double) to be the best value at 250 crowns (400 for the double).

2. I don't think BK currently has any cheap deal-worthy fillers. I think I got a $2 Hershey pie last time. They use to have $1 frozen soda drinks but not anymore. Like other people have mentioned, if you get a free burger you can get $1 worth of upgrades (cheese, extra tomatoes, etc) for the req.
3. You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you're going to automatically compare today's BK to what it was so far back in the past especially now that you're 20 years older with different taste buds. Whopper is still pretty big, so I don't think you'll be disappointed with the size at least especially if you customize. Customization is what you've been missing out on all these years. It's pretty nice to see exactly how you can customize it on the app and if and what charges each one is.
Looks like Jack in the Box has this beat. Their offering includes free breakfast sandwich, jumbo jack, and Oreo milkshake on select days (3 days for each, I think). They also have the $1 minimum purchase req. but hopefully they keep the $1 large drink offer going. If not, maybe kindly ask them to raise the price of their double tacos to $1.
The thing that has me confused was if you make an order online for pickup and say go there hours later, well I thought your food was already made but it would be real cold and also it would just be staying in that area for pickup orders right? Or that isn't how it works. So what exactly happens if you don't pick it up the end of the day? You still paid for it and can't get a refund right because you didn't pick it up? What does Bk do with that order? They throw it away or someone who works there eats or takes it or they reheat it the next day or something?
The lowest deal worth filler is a $2 hershey pie? You telling me there isn't any other burger there that is $2 or less? Certainly there has to be a burger that is $1.29 or so right or there isn't? When you get a free burger, well lettuce and tomatoes always comes with it right? So with a cheeseburger, you get extra cheese, tomatoes and what else? Pickles too?
Well I was curious if the whopper and whopper jr is still the same size as it was back 20 years ago or so. I know taste buds change but wanted to know if burgers have shrunk as well.

As I posted earlier in detail, if you want to get the $1 spending easily, upgrade the free item in the offer.
The prices have gone up drastically. Frequent BK eaters will remember that there used to be an app offer for a Bacon King meal with small fries and small drink for $4.99. I think I posted it once and everybody said that wasn't a deal. According to my purchase history the last one I did was 3 years ago. Back then I was able to top tomatoes and onions for free, making it a double whopper on steroid overdose. Right now on my app, there is a Bacon King + small fries for $8.99. The price pretty much doubled in just 3 years.
Also, the app works differently for every BK restaurant. It's pretty amazing how it's able to do that. One restaurant I go to, there is no drive-thru or dine-in, you have to specify the time for pickup. Another restaurant does not generate order number, but they start your order when you give them your name. Another BK is super busy, you have to give them the order number plus your name. It's all different how each BK does the app.

Yes I know prices has went up. Back then they had 2 whoppers for $2 and I remember many burger kings wouldn't do that. But they had no problem with 2 whopper jr for $2 though but that was way back then. Yes I know food prices has gone up a lot. It seems there is a weekly whopper deal that is 2 for $6 right? That doesn't seem bad and if you eat that and drink a bottle of water, that will certainly make you full right?
So if you want a free cheeseburger or free whopper jr for $1 purchase, what would you suggest then? I check online and it seems a cheeseburger is under $2 right? I mean that isn't bad since if you get that and get a free cheeseburger or whopper jr.. well it's less than $2 for 2 burgers which is good.
1. Download the app on the app store on an iphone. Make the order and pay with debit or credit card? Do most people pay with credit card since you get cashback as oppose to debit? I normally pay for food with cash so using it for food is something I rarely ever do. Never done this for debit or credit card as back then, almost nobody used a card for that. So after you place the order, how soon can you go pick it up? Do you get a notification that your order is ready for pickup or you just go there 20 minutes later and see if it's available? Say it takes you 20 minutes to get there or you going to get there in 20 minutes. How soon should you make your order before you go for pickup? So when the order is ready for pickup, what happens if you show up an hour or few hours later? It's still there but it's cold right? All these pickup order are in a bag already and in a separate area? Also when you go and pick up the order, you open the app and show them the order number from your phone right to pick it up right? I assume they don't check your id?
2. So these deals that are free cheeseburger or whopper jr if you spend $1, what is the cheapest thing you can buy to get this cheeseburger or whopper jr? What do people normally order if they want that free cheeseburger or whopper jr? I wouldn't want to buy a drink but at least fries? What about $1 burger but does that exist anymore there?
3. I remember their whopper way back in the day and whooper jr was really good. I am talking about like 20 years ago though. I assume the whopper and whooper jr are no where as good as back then? Are they also a lot smaller? I remember back then they would have whooper for $1 and same with whopper jr but even when whopper was $2, it was good. I remember eating just one whopper and it was a lot and 2 whoppers made me really full. Is that same now or not anymore?
My method is simple. I just get the upgraded free cheeseburger for $1 and nothing else. You go to the app, go to offers, and click on the cheeseburger deal. Then you customize the cheeseburger by adding extra cheese, tomatoes, onions until they go over $1.00. Once again, the upgrade prices vary store to store, so I hope you don't ask me what you need to add. One restaurant in Queens has extra cheese for just 20 cents. My local BK has extra onions for free so I have less options because they don't charge for extras. Don't forget, you can order condiments for 25 cents each if you upgraded everything and are still short.

Medium Big Mac Meal is $7.29 here and there is also an offer for BOGO Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, or nuggs in their deals. Several other offers as well. I like BK burgers better, just don't know why your McDonald's experience is so terrible. Running out of fries for a few minutes happens everywhere.
McD's is notorious for their soft-serve machines being down but it's based on their BS contract requirements for proprietary and expensiverepair service use.
I had BK tell me once that they had run out of Whopper meat. They would not sub in a couple of regular hamburger patties either.
They also have issues sometimes with no soft serve available. Just not constantly.
When I opened my McDonald's App for the first time in a while, there was a friendly welcome message. They also have no issues or delays making things my way since they've stopped having preassembled burgers.
Their order kiosks are a waste as they are not improving order speed unless the store is packed. Usually, the packed part is the drive-thru.
Maybe you've become fed up with your overall experiences, but from your comment, I see no big reason. BK food is competitively priced with McD's. Definitely not cheap. Whopper Wednesdays are up to $3 now. Used to be a dollar.

I don't recommend those cheap, small burgers....they taste pretty bad and it's quite possible those have shrunk. I regretted getting those $1 bacon cheeseburgers every time back when they had that deal. Whoppers aren't the best but the smaller patties just taste worse to me....maybe it's the bun difference putting in work.
I don't think they're doing a menu cheap, deal-worthy filler anymore because they're probably intending the free fries app coupon to be the substitute. Doesn't work in our favor, per se, but it is what it is.
More answers: I just say my first name and that's good enough like 99% of the time. Yeah, every time you pick up an order. The only "ticket-like" experience I know of...is maybe McDonalds drive through. You get a code (this might be outdated) from the app that you have to give them through the crappy speaker. "Picking up a mobile order. Code? It's MV40. MB14? No, it's MV40. M-what? I can't find it. Oh for farks sake." So yeah, I don't do McD drive-thru, and I think it's only drive-thru that uses that code procedure.
I think your idea of mobile ordering and what you've been describing is what a place like Panera does which can involve making orders days in advance and to be picked up at a specific time. It's probably YMMV what they do with orders not picked up.
