Sofirn makes GREAT flashlights at GREAT prices. I bought a bunch of these for Xmas gifts this year. Amazing price. At 1800 lumens, it's incredibly bright. Also, it's got a very simple UI, so a non-flashlight enthusiast can easily use it. Adding the battery is a no-brainer. Sofirn batteries are high quality. You just can't get a 18650 battery (of any quality) for this price.

Snip from the product page:

Features:
1. Leading Performance: This LED flashlight is equipped with SST-40, easily lighting up the path in front of you with significantly improved throw: it delivers a maximum output of 1800lm at a distance of up to 217 meters, producing a particularly soft and balanced beam profile to preserve comfortable vision.

2. USB Type-C Rechargeable: Integrated USB Type C charging, it will recharge quickly anywhere if there is access to a USB outlet. Fully charged the included 3000mAh rechargeable 18650 battery in 60 minutes through a USB Type A to USB Type C cable and a 5A/2V charger without disassembling the light.

3. Simple Operation: Access different outputs with the side electronic switches for any daily use scenario. Battery indicators on the side switch to get a battery level reminder at a glance. It features six brightness levels: Moon(3Lm)/Low(100Lm)/ Medium(350Lm)/ High(800Lm)/ Turbo(1800Lm)/ Strobe(1800Lm).

4. Ready to Perform: Rated at IP68 water resistance, the EDC light is able to withstand extreme weather conditions. Our handheld flashlight is made of solid aluminum alloy; No worries about slipping out of hand easily with double unique knurling for unique style and solid grip.

Shipping was $4 for me. I pulled the trigger since all of my other flashlights are weird brand names and figured I'd give Sofirn a try.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Wasser

it's got a very simple UI

That is my main issue with it. Cycling/tapping/switching through 7 or 8 light levels to find the right one, maybe with some squishy button, isn't fun.
Anduril 2 please. It can be dumbed down if needed.

Thanks OP. In 4 3. Really like this brand. Bought small headlight recently for working on cars and it's very light with a long battery life. A bit finicky to aim but once it's set you forget it's there.

Looks like it doesn't have Anduril 2.0 which is super handy on these types of lights. This looks identical to the Wurkkos WK03 which is $16.99 with battery, but free shipping.

Can you give me the ELI5 description of what this means? Is this just a power user feature that most people aren't going to care about?

Maybe maybe not. Sometimes a flashlight has an annoying interface setup or feature, this software allows you to change those settings is all. But yeah most people probably won't touch many of the settings, I just like knowing I have the option. https://i.imgur.com/mHuL7gU.png

So no free shipping? I like these lights but don't use them for every day carry any more. I'm using the Wurkkos / Boruit V3 tiny key chain lights that are nearly as bright but smaller than a key fob. These tiny v3 lights are insanely bright for their size, last a long time, and easy to use. The best light is the one you have with you, and I'll always have a v3 light with me no matter what, which take up almost no room in my pocket.

simple but has shortcut to moonlight, strobe, and turbo modes, also memory to LMH..which would cover about 95% of use cases for me.

discount code expired so i'm passing nonetheless, if i needed two i could get free shipping though

That is interesting...

Got their beefier SC28 recently which is near perfect except for that stupid interface. Yes, it has memory for the previously used setting, but if you want a different light level, you have to tap through however many levels there are unless you just want the next brighter one.

Also, switching to a different level is rather difficult, you tap the button, but it's hard to tell at which level you are from a short flash. Maybe the one I got is broken.

It actually has 3 different programs which are all equally dumb.

So I assumed this one was the same.

whoa, 30% off coupon (for me at least) bringing it to $19.59. that's a good deal for next day delivery and yes I'm pretty sure that's a sofirn just listed weirdly...all the pics and reviews show a sofirn

It literally says Sofirn SC18 in the description lol. "77 Outdoor Shop" is the seller.

77outdoor EDC Small Rechargeable Flashlight, Sofirn SC18 1800 High Lumen Flashlight, Super Bright Pocket Light with Powerful SST-40 LED, Type C Charging Port for Camping, Emergency, Dog Walking

These are great compact lights, the only issue is the soft button which is annoyingly prone to accidental activation in pockets and bags. You can click it 4 times to lock it, but who wants to have to do that every time, and it wouldn't be necessary if they had just used a firmer button.

Edit: This BLF user says he glued on a #10 SS finishing washer [budgetlightforum.com] from Home Depot to resolve the accidental pocket activations, but the #10 SS finishing washers I bought from my local Home Depot were slightly different than the one in his photo, with a flared out bottom, and I didn't want to mess with trying to get it to work so I gave up.

Sc28 is the only sofirn flashlight I've returned out of the 6 I own, hated that interface so bad, I knew I'd never use that flashlight
