What is the difference between the Ryzen Z1 vs Ryzen Z1 Extreme?
- Z1 (non-Extreme) is like a Ryzen 5 (12 core) and has integrated Radeon 740M
- Z1 Extreme is like Ryzen 7 (16 core) and has integrated Radeon 780M
What are the gaming performance differences?
- the performance for general usage and 2D gaming is not noticeable
- heavy 3D games will be significant since the 780M is up to 3 times faster than the 740M depending on the game being played

How does this perform against the Steam Deck?
- This falls a bit short of matching the Steam Deck in terms of gaming performance.

the Z1 is essentially a Ryzen 5 with Radeon 740M
the Z1 Extreme is a Ryzen 7 with Radeon 780M
That is very significant gaming performance.
I saw $480-$490 for used Z1 Extreme models, that is worth the price difference to ensure getting better gaming performance.

And Steam Deck OLED launched since those opinions you mention, with this price sandwiched in between old Steam Decks and new ones.
It's not as though Z1 Non-Extreme is a terrible APU, but it needs a big reality check on pricing and 33% off isn't enough. Best Buy open box price is the move if you're still interested.
