Next year?!? You are giving Nintendo (and their customers) way too much credit.

uh...steamdeck and lenovo handhelds both have options for finger touch controls. This units is stuck back in the era of xbox 360 Frown
Yeah, i'm not a fan of the lack of touchpads either, it's been a godsend navigating desktop mode on my OLED Steam Deck and insanely useful for mapping buttons and macros on for certain games

What I needed is the steam deck's efficiency, with the screen and controllers of the Go, and the body color and touch response of the Ally...

I ended up just getting the chunky Go. Best Buy also has some great open box deals for it.

Nintendo's been around a long time. They fill a niche market and don't see their consoles at a loss during initial release. Don't want their product, don't buy it. If it weren't for Nintendo gaming today might be a lot different. First they brought the gaming market back from the Abyss with the Famicon / NES and they served as a major motivating factor when they spurned Sony when they were looking to collaborate on the Super NES CD-ROM.

But Nintendo will end up selling 150M units while Asus will be happy selling a couple of mils

But the gyro aiming is fantastic and a way better option than touch controls. The only time I think touchpads might be helpful is for the desktop, but since the Ally automatically switches control modes quite accurately, I have no problem navigating the desktop via thumbstick and touchscreen. All of these devices are amazing, IMO, and I've been gaming way more since I got my Ally. I sit at a desk all day, and I never want to sit at my gaming pc desk.
