If you have the need to spend the $100 at Academy for something else, the 4-16x Eagle is a good price.

As far as I can tell the Eagle is a rebranded older diamondback. If you plan on using this gift cards you come out slightly ahead but may not be worth the hassle for some.

I've used scopes of various brands and various qualities, maybe I'm spoiled these days but I recently tried both a crossfire and a diamondback and wasn't very impressed. The leupold freedom was an unbeatable value when it was going regularly for $200ish (pre covid), now you can't seem to touch them for under $300. Again, every budget and expectation is different so don't take offense if you don't agree with me.

Had the crosshairs just fall out of a Vortex scope, they sent me out a higher tier scope as a replacement as they didn't make that model anymore. Over all you gotta respect a company that stands behind their products as this is becoming more rare as time goes on!

Vortex has among the best warranties in the industry. Every single time I've had to contact them they've gone above and beyond. One time I lost a screw I needed for a riser plate. They could have mailed it USPS in a single envelope as it was a very small screw. Not only did they 2nd day air mail it to me, they included a free hat in the package.

Still not sure this is a great deal with Christmas coming up, might be able to pull a better deal at PSA with a bundled deal and come out ahead. Any other potential places to shop and price compare for these items?

For that kind of dough, I would recommend Arken SH-4 or 4J scopes. Far superior in optics clarity, turrets, and reticle. Only downside would be its weight.

Or even their new EP4L scopes if lower weight is preferred.

Vortex's lower end stuff is decent for the money, but Leupold is better in the low end. Once you get to the Razor though, vortex is king

lol I would hope any reputable scope company would warranty a scope that the reticle fell out of!

Hopium is good stuff Stick Out Tongue
They could easily say I mishandled the scope, dropped it or used the scope on a 50 cal ( I did) but they said it was rated for up to 50 cal Smilie Actually the shooting went fine the crosshairs fell out while the gun was in my safe. They said they were aware they had gotten a bad run from the manufacturer with some glue that wasn't holding.
