I don't recommend google hardware anymore. They can't be trusted. I had the older model which won't let me update settings anymore. It still works, but you cannot do anything about it: https://support.google.com/google...r/11257354
Incorrect. You can setup extra routers as points.
Source: I owned 3 routers. When wirelessly meshed the 2 Ethernet points are active so you can wire in a device if needed. I eventually used the 3 in an Ethernet backhaul.
Looks like amazon has it for $65. This is the wifi 5, not the wifi 6 version.

Routers are NOT points. You cannot interchange them with this version. The OG you could do that but not on these. You need one router and then multiple points to attach to them.

I love Google and I would have to recommend this too. You just need to understand they will discontinue things at any time. When I got my home I went all google and got nest secure. That thing turns into a brick early next year. The nest wifi pro also was terrible at the beginning but now is solid. Just be wary they could change things at any time

This is the older version. The nest wifi pro is the one you want, and dell had it for a deal last week where you could use ur CC cashback and another cashback site to bring the price down to 240 after tax.

Save your money. Not a SD at all.

If brand new is not necessary, can always get used or open box on ebay for much cheaper.

I just purchased this during Black Friday and installed it as a point to my current Mesh. Everything works well

I guess this is Dual band AC ( WiFi - 5), NOT Tri band AX ( WiFi - 6 or 6E)

I would comment that you might want to read the specs before getting the pro. I have two pros in mesh mode, but once you have it in mesh mode it can no longer operate in "bridge" mode, unlike my amplifi WAPs. That means you have to double nat unless you make the router the DHCP server and basically the internet router. That messed me up as I had to get rid of my main router. I mean it still works but it's definitely not that configurable.

Agree, I have the latest Nest WIFI 6 and it sucks. Need to reboot every fortnight.

What's the difference between a router and a point? Why is the price so much different?

The routers are 4x4 mimo vs 2x2 for the points. Def get the router over the points if possible.

Source: just added a router to my setup so 2 nest wifi routers total.

Good call. I bought a few of these over the summer on Ebay for around $30 each (connected them via ethernet to have points and expanded coverage). They are easy to install, work quite well (have around 40 devices on the network with zero issues) and the app is so easy to use.

The only problem is there is only one ethernet port in the back so i had to add a switch to my main unit as I have a few wired connections in my network.

Can I connect this from a switch?

I already have the set but it sucks so thinking about adding 2nd router but the first is going into a switch as it only had 1out port...

Ahh I think you answered my question, my points suck and keep disconnecting.... can I hard wire the 2nd router from my switch and will that help with the drops.....?

I bought the Tplink 5400 3 pack from Costco but it's 270... so looking to salvage what I have.
