Paid $35 for this last month. No regrets.

I do think buying 2 single arms are better if you want more ability to customize your layout, especially the height of each monitor.

You can't stack vertically.

I'm not quite sure why you had such a difficult time but I didn't need anything you stated. Was able to install alone with no special tools other than a normal screw driver and had no issues moving it a few inches on the desk after mounting.

Will this allow the monitors to be stacked or just horizontal.

Only good for up to 14.3lbs per arm. My older gen monitor sadly weighs more than this but good deal for those who can get it!

I got this last year for my dual 27inch monitors set up.
They work great and are sturdy. Would recommend.

Picked up one of these a while back. Couple of lessons learned to potentially help others.
  1. You will absolutely need two people to set this up
  2. You're going to want permanently magnetized screwdrivers
  3. Figure out where you want the monitors before trying to attach them and clamp the mount to the desk at that point because moving it after the monitors are attached is not easy

Would this work if I wanted to have a 49" ultrawide and on top of it a 27" 1440? Probably not right?

I got this stand last year and generally works pretty great, especially for the price.

The only downside is that I find that the monitors don't raise up high enough at 16" on center to provide a comfortable viewing angle (at least for me).

Add me to the list of people that didn't need any of this. One person setup is completely possible.
