These sheets used to be amazing quality up until about four or so years ago. They were thick, durable, and didn't pill. Then, something changed -- they switched to Hygro cotton. Hygro cotton is not pure cotton but rather a cotton/polyester blend.

Also remember that tread count has nothing to do with quality and durability. We have a 220 count cotton percale fitted sheet from a high-end manufacturer that we've used daily for 28 months and is still like new.
Google mostly finds puffery claims about hygrocotton, which makes me very suspect of the actual quality. I did find one site that lists hygrocotton as 92% cotton / 8% polyester. https://directtextilestore.com/We...ton-Sheets
I just assume hygtocotton = not real cotton, I pass.

Can you name the manufacturer?
Yes, they were made by Cuddle Down, a Canadian-based company. www.cuddledown.ca (which is a totally different company than cuddledown.com).

We ordered from North Shore Linens. They also ship to the US.

Neutral colors: https://www.northshorelinens.com/...ddle-down/

Bright colors: https://www.northshorelinens.com/...e-fashion/

They do cost more, but they are totally worth it in the long run. The percale weave is very durable, and the sheets and nice and thick. Our sheets have not pilled at all. There are a few stains from food from kids, but we can't fault the product for that.

I recently bought Targets opalhouse branded percale sheets and they have been doing ok. Long term results I'm yet to see. Prints are sucky but they are comfortable. Eddie Bauer percale sheets on Amazon seems to have great reviews but I'm yet to try.

I also bought woolrich branded flannel sheets from Amazon- they are heavy, thick and my best sheets so far.

Amazon's own jersey sheets are the worse ones in my list. Abrasive and pointless.

Amazon also has percale sheets from Nautica that are similarly priced to the Eddie Bauers. Haven't tried either of them myself.

Sheets arrived last night. Package states 100% cotton? We'll see how they compare to our Bill and Branch and Costco Kirkland sets.
