It's all you'd want for this. Range is the only major requirement.
Yep agreed - the range is more important than the speed - not much speed needed for clicking lights on and off. 2.4 Ghz is the service band IMO. 5 Ghz is for the human facing devices where download speed for streaming etc. is important.

I actually operate these using a python script -- can be downloaded on github. Simple to use on a raspberry pi and you have your own home automation.

Why not just manage through home assistant if you are already using a raspbery pi?

can these be used outdoor with a cover? I don't think the cover can be fully closed when this one have a power cord plugged in. I don't want to buy the outdoor one as I will only use it outdoor during December.

They turn on every single time there is a power outage. Wyze has a option to let them return to the same state they were in before the outage.
I come home sometimes and all my Kasa bulbs are on, by Wyze are just as they should be. ugh.
Kasa bulbs have that option too, but it's easy to miss (and not the default). Look in the Kasa app under settings and you'll find one for "On from Power Source -- Last ON State." Easy fix.

Only 2.4 channel? what is this, 2012?
2023. This is the the right frequency to use for this device. It's not surfing the internet or downloading BD rips.

How can they be in stock but not arriving until Dec 21-23? Prime shipping is a joke.

I can do that too, but my use case is specific. For instance, I have a pi I call gizmo and he handles things like when there is a power outage, monitors the UPS systems, shuts down machines if needed. There is a Kasa power strip that can recycle power on devices and there are 3d printers I control via this script to turn on/off the lights, printers, etc during print jobs.

I like Home Assistant, have used it, but not for this ancellory items.
