In my opinion, the first game is the most difficult in the series, especially if you want to do all the optional Alfheim portals. If you are not a hardcore player, those optional levels can get tough. Some of the levels with quick-time events haven't aged gracefully, but that's a minor issue. Most of the game still holds up very well.
The second and third games are much easier than the first one. Those are great as well (you'll have to play them on the Switch though).

EDIT: There are two versions of Bayonetta on the store. The Xbox 360 version does NOT have these upgrades.
