Quote from paintballer301 :
Anyone know what triggers a DD that isn't an employer? (Paypal transfer, Fidelity transfer, etc.)

I've been wondering if I could qualify someone else's dd requirement by sending funds using the slower transfer (not instant) method from my square payment processor for self employed. That does show as ach and even though it would be legit to send it to myself I can see it v not qualifying plus like the gent below attract bull shittery

I've had zero problems with the last two U.S. Bank promotions I did. They're a reputable and the 5th largest bank in the country.

No US Bank physical branch in my state, but I recently opened one of their CCs a few months ago.

11/15/23: Opened Smartly Checking Account, funded with $25
11/19/23: $5k push from Chase Checking, withdrew all funds later
11/21/23: $5k push from Chase Checking, withdrew all funds later
12/4/23: $500 bonus posted, withdrew all funds later

Wasn't expecting the bonus to work given these horror stories, my CC bonus last month, and no real DD; but I think the fact I'm an actual CC holder made this easier for me since I'm waived any maintenance fees and I'm already verified before.

I have been with US Bank for years, primarily as the Branch is half a mile away in a Grocery store I visit twice a week. With mobile banking that is less of an issue. No problem just keeping a checking account funded to the minimum for the monthly bills.

Friendly folks, saved me plenty in free notary. There Elite MM is decent @ 4.5%. I funded that with some decent coin as a home base for transferring in and out to higher rate short term investments. I will be sending a chunk out to Schwab for some T-Bills shortly

Agreed with everyone here... AVOID U.S. Bank. I had a family member that recently passed and I've had a few inquiries regarding their business account with several different agents on different days. All experiences went terrible. Not only did they not know their banks' procedures in handling these circumstances, they weren't even willing or making the effort to find out and provide any useful information. This bank employs incompetent individuals that have zero business handling customers funds. Banks need to remember that it's THEIR privilege that individuals trust their hard earned money with them. US BANK will make sure that they are doing you a favor when you request for your money. SAD
