I managed to snag a mim hss strat in 2021 for 463, but tbh it was probably a mix of sale+pricing mistake (I think the amazon algorithm was referencing some random site or used price). Anyway, with prices continually dropping this year, I like to hold out hope I'll see another low price.

Put another way, since these continually go on sale at this price, it's not slick enough for me to buy a player tele. 😑

This is what happens when I noticed the previous deal was removed this morning. Been fighting the urge on these all year. Either or both though my budget collection lacks a SSS brush.

I bought that same Tele pre-COVID for...$479, I think. It's my favorite guitar. I enjoy it much more than my American Deluxe Strat Plus. I love the tones it makes.

I don't have the exact apples to apples, but I have this player tele and an Am Pro II Strat.
I play the Pro Strat a lot more. It does not have noiseless pickups.

The rolled fret edges are quite nice, I also prefer the neck profile and fret size but that's personal preference. The Pro "v mod" pickups are some of the best stock pickups I've heard. The Pro Strat just feels like a more polished instrument but I have no hesitation taking the player series out on a gig.
