Guys remember that nintendo is giving everyone who renews a 12 month membership 20% gold coins back. You must redeem by 12/6. You need to click on the offer on the nintendo website to qualify.
Boooo to Amazon for no discount on the individual membership with the expansion pass. I probably would have made a purchase if it was 10% off of that.

It is on sale at Target for $44.89 though and for those with a Target Redcard with the extra 5% discount before taxes is $42.64.
Or you could just buy Eshop credits for 10% off at target and spend it on whatever flavor of membership you want.

Do you get to keep the expansion games if you don't have the online member anymore?
Nope. It's like Netflix or Gamepass.

And the 20% Nintendo gives you is based on the normal retail price of the membership. So, buying the family membership here for 31.49, you'll get 20% of the normal $35 price ($7), effectively making it like being able to get the membership for 24.49.

Does this stack? Meaning I still have 2 months left. Would this tack on the end?

Yes, it stacks. You can stack and buy as many memberships at a time as you wants and it adds months on top of what you already have

So you can buy the Nintendo store "gift card" on sale for $31 AND use it for the membership to get the 20% coins? Or you HAVE TO buy it via the Nintendo store directly to get the 20% coins?

I activated the 20%-gold-coins offer on Nintendo.com; I then activated a 1yr NSO membership, extending my existing plan, but my coin count did not go up.

If that is the case then it sounds like the 20% gold coins are based on new membership rather than renewal? Unless it takes some time to apply- correct me if I'm wrong.

the fine print says it can take up to 14 days for them to deposit the gold coins. My balance also didn't increase so I guess we have to wait a couple weeks..

Says it also works if you "redeem a code" so I assume you get points once you claim offer and redeem the code through nintendo. Might want to opt in on the auto renewal just in case and opt out once you get the gold coins.

Do I have to buy it on the Nintendo site or can I buy the Amazon deal and use that code?

I have the family one through March, but I have no idea why I have it, lol. I mean I know how I got it, but not why I care. Cloud saves with one device only matter if somethings happens to your device…

Yes to the sale option.
First, make sure you click through Nintendo's promo and activate the 20% offer on your account.
Then, go buy the discounted family membership off Amazon, and redeem the code on your Switch console to either start or extend your membership.

Nintendo says the 20% gold coins can take up to 14 days to process, but when I did it, I got my 700 coins within about 8 hours.

Thanks. Bought Single membership for $18 and something after taxes and red card. Redeemed code and enabled the "Earn Gold Points with Nintendo Switch Online" offer prior. Will see if it stacks.
