I've had one for about 2 years now, it's been very good. Turned my Sony xm3s into a gaming headset

I mean, not everyone can figure out the complicated installation process of plugging something in.

Just make sure your headset is 3.5mm. Some Sennheisers use 2.5mm with lock and adding an adapter creates more connectivity issues.

Thanks for posting this. I ended up ordering the mic, a set of windscreens, and an adapter for HD 599.

buyer beware: i had this mic for a couple months and had issues with audio crossover from the output to input at times — other players in game would be able to hear themselves and my game noise — which seemed odd given i was using closed M50x cans. I think there is some issue with the way it utilizes one wire — not 100% sure. It became so inconsistent to trouble shoot that i ended up switching over to the modmic.

Good mic. I used this with my HD 598 after some modifications. I had to replace the adapter for audio and mic twice in two years.

I've had the same issue with multiple headsets. Really weird, cause I never seem to have this issue with work calls, zoom, etc.

It's that the connection was constantly staticky. It wasn't reliable.

Been using these for years. Both with VMODA headphones and others with zero issues.

I replace them maybe every 2-3 years.

Great mic. I've had plenty. Best paired w/ a nice set of headphones like shp9500. Been my main driver forever.

I'll just toss in another anecdotal endorsement for these. I have used one of these daily for about 3-4 years for work calls. The mute button eventually built up some dirt and wouldn't completely mute me. Still usable, but not 100%.

Even so, I figure several years off flawless operation, and excellent sound quality is well worth it.
