On the flip side, due to its width, its length is limited to else it would be too heavy. The blade is also flat so it doesn't allow for fullers. Their points are close to 90 degrees so they only deal slashing damage rather than piercing.

Bought one 8 years ago for $12, been using it daily until very recently. It's okay.. I'd prefer the better balance of a western style chefs knife.
