Obviously we disagree. The good news is you don't have to buy it.

If you're not looking to spend $800 on a robot vacuum, those same discounts should also apply to the Roborock Q7 Max+. It's currently on an even better sale than the s7 max ultra ($370 off, 43% off) at $500 without applying any discounts or offers, and is not that huge of a downgrade compared to the s7 max ultra. After 15% off followed by 5% off it'd be $403.74, literally half the price of the s7 max ultra.

I've had the S7 MaxV Ultra for most of the year. It runs daily and remains the single best way we've ever spent $1000. In all of that time it's gotten stuck on something, or accidentally locked itself in a room, about 5 or 6 times. We often get alerts about objects avoided.
It's not perfect though, so we do make an effort to keep our floors generally tidy and clear so the vacuum can do its thing.

After having a Q7 Max for a year, almost every run something gets caught in the brush or wheels (bag tie, piece of plastic, etc) that requires a manual fix. Is there really a remote possibility that these fancier versions could work for weeks (or even days) without having the same thing happen?
The AI/ML/CV on these really isn't that smart, you still need to pickup best you can before you run them. Otherwise I think it avoids things ~70% of the time

I have Save 15% on Home purchase, but it cannot be applied to RoboRock.
Actually, I am now able to use 15% off. Probably it takes time to take effect after I added the offer to my account. I also have another 5% off for order pickup makes the final price 767.12. Not sure if I should get this one or waiting on my S7 MaxV Ultra replacement (the $695 refurbished deal, but I got a defective one)

Dang. Bought the Q5+ from Amazon for $400 deal last week and already unboxed and used it....not sure if the Q7 Max+ is worth it. Not sure if I would like having to maintain the mop pad manually (i.e. washing and replacing).

Not as good as the eBay refurbished deal for S7 maxV ultra last week. That was at around $680 before tax and comes with 2 years warranty.
The roborock official refurbished is literally brand new.

Glad you had a good experience. I however did not. They sent me two defective "refurbished" units. I can deal with once, but twice? I wouldn't recommend buying refurbished from Roborock. It's almost like thew are throwing the units up against the wall to see what sticks. I did return the second unit for a a full refund and purchased a new unit for like $75 more. Love the new one, with no issues so far.

I'm on my 2nd year with a Roborock S7 without auto-emptying dock. I have to regularly unspool hair, perhaps from my dog, from the roller and sweeper arm so not sure how many repeatedly unattended runs I could do without human maintenance.

Are you specifically saying this about The S7 Max Ultra? It generally does not require this. Do you have experience with this model?

Generally is a bit opinionated? My 70% is too but that is just an estimate on my observations. If I leave a bunch of stuff on the floor it will eventually get stuck, otherwise I try my best to remove everything in its path so it doesn't. Do you leave socks and cables on the floor all the time and it avoids it 100% of the time?

Yeah it makes me wonder whether these extra additions have any utility - what would REALLY be helpful is if it could clean its own brushes to get out the things that typically require manual fix. I would pay a lot for that.

Deal is dead. 15% shows only for non-sale items. Had Q7 in the cart, I was researching on S7 vs Q7 then added S7. Removed 15%

Worked now.

It's obviously a personal decision, but I bought the Q5+ specifically because I did not want to maintain the mop portion. Eventually, I'll have a bot that does everything, but I didn't want to spend $1k on that right now.

I've been very happy with my Q5 and it doesn't take me long to run a mop over the floor. If you want a really quick mop option, snag one of those square mops with replaceable microfiber heads and a built in spray bottle from Amazon (O Cedar brand is well reviewed) and just hit the floor every few days to a week, depending on how dirty your house gets.

I already got the Ecovac Deebot T20 (DEEBOT TEO OMNI) through Costco for $700.
Looking online these two seem very comparable but the crowd favorite is the S7 Max Ultra due to the app being more stable and Roborock seeming more popular.

Has anyone had hands-on experience with either and can weigh in?

I've used another Ecovac and the maps do seem to clear from the app more often than I'd like but the obstacle avoidance is really good and I don't do much updating on the map. I'll be using it primarily on hardwood floors and the on-water storage for the S7 Max Ultra seems to be an advantage over the T20 which has to go back to the docking station. I'll have about 650 sqft between a few rooms to do. Receiving the T20 from Costco does give me a bit more peace of mind with their warranty.

I have had 2 of these for the past 6 months or so. Run them 3-4 times a week each. At the beginning one failed and they replaced it for me. No issues since. Got a bunch of the trash bags from Temu. Very happy, my house has black floors and many pets so these are totally worth it.
