Obviously we disagree. The good news is you don't have to buy it.

If you're not looking to spend $800 on a robot vacuum, those same discounts should also apply to the Roborock Q7 Max+. It's currently on an even better sale than the s7 max ultra ($370 off, 43% off) at $500 without applying any discounts or offers, and is not that huge of a downgrade compared to the s7 max ultra. After 15% off followed by 5% off it'd be $403.74, literally half the price of the s7 max ultra.

I've had the S7 MaxV Ultra for most of the year. It runs daily and remains the single best way we've ever spent $1000. In all of that time it's gotten stuck on something, or accidentally locked itself in a room, about 5 or 6 times. We often get alerts about objects avoided.
It's not perfect though, so we do make an effort to keep our floors generally tidy and clear so the vacuum can do its thing.

It's obviously a personal decision, but I bought the Q5+ specifically because I did not want to maintain the mop portion. Eventually, I'll have a bot that does everything, but I didn't want to spend $1k on that right now.

I've been very happy with my Q5 and it doesn't take me long to run a mop over the floor. If you want a really quick mop option, snag one of those square mops with replaceable microfiber heads and a built in spray bottle from Amazon (O Cedar brand is well reviewed) and just hit the floor every few days to a week, depending on how dirty your house gets.
I got the S7 on sale for $400, and surprisingly the mop works well. I didn't see the need to spend $600 more for the huge dock when all I have to do is throw the mop pads in the wash and fill a water tank which takes 30 secs. The tank can go 1000sqft on deep clean before I even need to fill it.

The Ultra dock does not make sense unless you can hook it up to a water supply and drain, at least not for more than double the cost.

Glad you had a good experience. I however did not. They sent me two defective "refurbished" units. I can deal with once, but twice? I wouldn't recommend buying refurbished from Roborock. It's almost like thew are throwing the units up against the wall to see what sticks. I did return the second unit for a a full refund and purchased a new unit for like $75 more. Love the new one, with no issues so far.
Sam experience here. First one missing parts now able to wash mop. Second unit dock has no power. Third unit works great for a week and stock on error 42 can't wash mop while nothing was jammed. Finally returned for refund. And bought brand new q revo. I would definitely prefer s7 maxV unfortunately bad luck for me.

Just throwing in my 2 cents bout roborock. Not affiliated with them in any way.

I have the S6 MaxV Ultra. I run it twice a day, once in the morning after everyone leaves for the day and again in the evening after dinner. I used to run it in the middle of the night as well, but in the end it was too much (wife complained😂). Haven't had much problems with it. In the beginning we used to leave our charging cables around and it used to chew those up but after a month we learned to either put them away or just block off that area. It avoids socks, clothes, pets, and their toys, and most stuff a good majority of the time. The thing it really doesn't avoid is the small gauge charging cables, which is pretty understandable.

After 2.5 years and a little over 1.1 million sq ft ran, the main complaint I have is that the battery runs out quickly and it needs to go back to the charger a couple of times before completing the clean cycle. I may look into replacing the battery or upgrading to new one that has the auto empty/clean, but it honestly doesn't bother me. It can run as long as it wants because it isn't bothering anyone at those times. I've recommended roborock many times and have even gifted 3 more as house warming presents.

There was a 20% ebay promo that took the price down to $695. There's currently a 15% code all over the site that takes the same refurb model down to $740 + 2 year allstate wty; not bad. Certainly better than the Max Ultra(unless you would rather have an integrated mop dryer instead of the improved obstacle detection+camera)
I had to return it since they sent a beaten up item. its a hit or miss

I'm having a similar issue, the robot was fine but the dock had the red LED and arrived missing the mopping dock. Went the replace route but scolded the support team for sending used bots and they noted not to send a repackaged unit LMAO..
Seriously, their refurbishment team needs to step up their game

I have an S6 Pure and Eufy. Purchased for less than $300. So, you have huge margin of diminishing returns, don't you? $300 robot gets stuck and cleans the floors great. Why bother paying $1000 for a robot with HARLY any improvement at all. (parent own this exact robot, and my S6 will match performance). If I came home to a vacuumed home, I wouldn't be able to tell if a $1000 S7 Max Ultra (silly name) did it or a $250 S6 or $199 Eufy cleaned it.

That should tell you something. You paid $1000 extra for auto empty? lol stupid reason if you ask me.
Why do you care how other people spend their money? If someone is happy spending $1k on the S7 Max Ultra and you're happy spending $200 on your Eufy or S6, then just move on.

Why do you care if I care? Do you not see the credit card delinquency rate and utilization shooting up? Move on Scott! don't buy this robot. It's no bueno.

It's not the first time you've mentioned how these vacuums are too expensive. There are plenty of other folks that seem to value the benefits these premium vacuums. Your posts would be more helpful if your bias towards people's consumer spending wasn't part of your issue.

I work in finance. I like to see people being smart with their money. It's not the price that's the issue. It's the value.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

If you're spending $1000 on a vacuum, shouldn't it remove the necessity of having to remove items from being stuck in the robot? It's supposed to be advanced? even has a camera, and STILL can't avoid objects. Given the alternatives, at cheaper prices, it doesn't justify the price for differential in performance. It's like buying Tesla stock over Stellantis. One is overvalued and doesn't perform much better than the other, at all.

Not as good as the eBay refurbished deal for S7 maxV ultra last week. That was at around $680 before tax and comes with 2 years warranty.
The roborock official refurbished is literally brand new.
I was also unlucky because mine arrived with all three top buttons pushed in and not working. Glad I saved the box. Fingers crossed they send me a good one this time.
