I currently have an AM4 motherboard and was waiting on a good deal for a 5800X3D (currently on an older R5 3600 X from 2019) ... Is it worth it to get this and an AM5 motherboard? Or should I wait for a ~250ish deal on the 5800X3D and keep my current motherboard?

Edit: Ahhh I did it, pulled the trigger, came out to $326 after tax. Now I have to justify a new motherboard purchase to the wife lol

I picked this up in the $300 microcenter deal and I've struggled to even challenge it for gaming.

Paired with 7900XTX and the CPU has never been the bottleneck yet running the likes of Cyberpunk on Ultra

Only the Accrued interest for that first month. You can always pay early and "save" on interest with Affirm.

Thanks picked up a 5800x3d ($275ish after code) and ASUS RT-AX88U PRO ($205ish after code). Not historical lows but close enough. You can only pay off the balance with cash right, no credit cards? For cash back points.

What resolution and fps are you getting? I'm currently running a 7900xtx with a 9700k. At 1080p the cpu is a massive bottleneck constantly hitting 100% while
The gpu stays around 50% usage.

Unless you have a game that is being held back by your current setup, there's no reason to upgrade unless you just want to treat yourself for Xmas. You're coming from a 5900x already, so the improvement is not as great as someone upgrading from a 1-2-3 series

Had a 5950x, tried the 5800x3d and games were better but not enough. Returned it and went with the 7800x3d and it's considerably faster.
