Was thinking the same thing. Remember when their Elite plasmas were top of the line?

For anybody out of the loop, this isn't made by the original Pioneer, but the brand name is licensed out to Compal Electronics. Don't expect a high-end product. It's a no-thrills, direct-lit TV, probably better than the super low-end edge-lit junk TVs that are out there and decent as a secondary set or a set for somebody not picky about picture quality. Technical info on this set is sparse, though.

If smart features matter to you, I'd also get a Roku/Apple TV/Fire stick/etc. I definitely wouldn't expect much from Xumo on a budget set.

Warranty service requires you to bring the TV back to a Best Buy store, FYI.

Seems super weird that Pioneer would license out their name on a cut-rate product while they still sell nicer stuff in the home theater market (AVR and speakers specifically). Stranger things have definitely happened, though.
