eSIMS have been around since 2016-2017. Google Pixel has had it on every phone since Pixel 3 (or Pixel 2 if used with Google Fi). Pixel 3 can be had for about $50 on eBay, or $85 like new on Amazon. Your argument is incorrect. The companies want eSIM customers because it's less work and less expensive for the company to issue and initiate new service. If the customers that are attracted also happen to be the customers that pay their bills on time then they're not going to be mad about it.

I think the no hotspot comment in the OP is incorrect unless they changed it recently. I got this plan about 4 months ago and I have 10GB hotspot limit per month. Also I've went over 35gb and didn't experience any throttling after in my area.

And then throttled. This is pretty normal for mnvo service. I believe this a good type of throttle compared to others. Very usable after the 35 gb.
It's not throttling, it's deprioritizing. This is very much not the same thing. You will still get max speeds assuming the network isn't congested. If you live in an area with good 5g coverage you will usually see max speeds because 5g has so much available bandwidth. If the area is congested then you will start to see symptoms of longer latency and throttled speeds.

This is not the same kind of unlimited plan as say us mobile, they actually do a hard throttle of 1mbps and keep that once you've reached the data limit, regardless of congestion.

This makes the metro plan pretty awesome. One thing to note though is that all Tmobile brand plans will get higher priority than metro plans during the initial data bucket. So if you happen to live in an area where there are a ton of Tmobile branded customers around you you are more likely to experience deprioritizing. Again it's normally not an issue if you have good 5g coverage in your area.

They want esim because they want less headaches dealing with customers in store. Also, corporate Metro will partially lose out profit when customers go to stores to activate their phones. also, they are likely to be doing automatic payment op ins if customers don't live near a Metro store.

Pretty sure the stylus g doesn't have esim, so presumably no.

actually looks like the '23 does have it in some versions, so forget what I said.

I wish I had the 5G hotspot option on my plan. My plan only supports 3G unlimited hotspot. I thought all 3G signals was terminated but I was wrong with T-mobile.

You can also get this deal using a SIM card if you have a Metro SIM card. In the sign up process you have the option to do eSIM or use a SIM card. I signed up for this yesterday.

Will this combine with the moto g stylus offer?
This is a byod offer so no free phone. You could get the Moto G stylus and do your month of service and hope this deal is still around. The unlock period on the stylus g is 180days but I seem to remember reading if you stayed on T-Mobile you only needed that initial month.

My kid has the 2022 version, and it doesn't have an esim which is a real pain when traveling.
