Agreed. Though I'm about to downgrade from 256GB to 64GB and give my wife my 256GB. I'm going to have to turn off iCloud Photos because it doesn't offload enough. This will work for me because I now use my M1 MacBook Air much more, only thing I use the iPad for is watching streamed videos using a handful of apps. I don't like interacting with a touch screen if I don't have to.

For general purpose use of an iPad, you really need 256GB, even 128GB gets cramped. Only get the smaller storage if you're absolutely sure it'll work for your use case.

They are a legitimate B&M establishment. They are kinda like a Costco and Sam's Club but smaller.

Apple certified refurb has 256gb for 549 which is basically 450 if you've been buying apple gc for 20% off.

I went the 64gb route as I only use a handful of apps and mostly stream be it movies or ebooks. Not to mention the fairly imminent release of mini7 at this point. Trade in values do not scale well at all vs additional storage.
