This guy had a pretty terrible experience [youtube.com] with the Pixel 7 pro. My experience with the Pixel 7 was also pretty awful, starting with the lame finger print sensor that still works less than 50% to this day.
I thought maybe the optical fingerprint sensor was to blame. But when I switched to the amazing Moto ThinkPhone with an optical fingerprint sensor, it works 100% instantly, so something is seriously wrong with Pixel (including the hated time-out feature when setting up fingerprints - it took me 30 minutes to set up a single fingerprint, not an exaggeration - WTF Google?? - and yet it still works less than 50% of the time.)
My recommendation is to buy the Moto ThinkPhone all day over the Pixel. the difference is night and day. The ThinkPhone made me fall in love with Android again, whereas the Pixel 7 made me hate it.
The best decision I ever made was moving the SIM card out of my Pixel 7 to the ThinkPhone.
The ThinkPhone is still on sales for $360, and is the steal of the year. I'm buying several for the family, include kids who wanted to switch to it from their iPhones after playing with it.

Regarding Pixel, my Pixel 5a was stuck on a November update for 3-4 months before it finally updated, like many people on this discussion [reddit.com].
I was pretty sad to see Pixel updates being neglected for so long.
So by that approach, apparently many of the happy Pixel users in this thread must be Google employees.
Sad you can't think of anything more original.
Face unlock is not secure, not compared to Apple FaceID which is far more secure.
Fingerprint unlock is the best option on the Pixel, if it worked properly.
