On the other hand... I have had zero issues with P7P for the past 8 months. Not sure why you had so much trouble setting up a finger print. It only took me a minute or two AND it works every single time. Battery life isn't as good as my work Samsung 22, but I end with about 40% on a heavy use day. I am sure the Moto is great, but I really enjoy the photos and smooth software experience (ie, no bloat wear.)

I experienced the opposite of this, maybe you received a dud. I've had the P7P since it came out, wife has P6P. They have both been amazing.

there are always ppl who have good experiences and ppl who have bad experiences with literally everything. check the samsung forums and you'll find ppl who are/have had bad experiences with samsung phones. big surprise ! literally happens with every product in every industry. ppl don't like WD ! but they love seagate ! ppl love WD but don't like seagate ! ppl hate intel ! but love AMD.. other hate AMD but love intel !.. i dunno man.. glad you're able to vent somewhere.. but while you're not alone.. you're also on one side of a coin where the otherside has had/having the complete diff experience. hope you feel better tho

All colors for the 256GB and 512GB are marked down as well. Only the 128GB is limited to the Snow option for some reason.

Loved my P7P. I got it right when it came out for $900-$200 gift card...so I paid $700 in reality. I gave it to my wife because she wanted a phone that took great photos and I got a OnePlus 11. I like the OnePlus 11, it's blazing fast, but I miss my P7P. it's still working great over a year later. Battery life was always only mid in my opinion but easily got me through the day with heavy use. anyone complaining about the fingerprint sensor should just record a second fingerprint on the same finger. I never had an issue.

I would've bought the 512GB if it weren't for the charging speed. 23W is unbearable and ridiculous for a 2022 phone.

Why did the Google Pixel break up with its old phone? It needed some space – and by space, it meant the amazing Google Photos storage!

Other phones will drop in price around Christmas so Google trying to keep ahead of the game despite the problems the Pixel phones have.

With regard to fingerprint I've used 4 and did them in the dark. I have no problem with my Samsung S20FE which also has an optical FP reader. It's pretty much the same on the P8P too.

Is there trade in for this phone at amazon?
They are charging $200 for 128 to 512gb upgrade which is too expensive.

The mint deal with a year of service for $389 seems like the better way to go on this phone. Plus, some people are offering to buy the service for ~$50 on that thread, People seem to be getting them unlocked fine. The fingerprint scanner was bad at the beginning but I think with the updates, it works much better now. The camera takes awesome pics.
Uh I just revisited that thread and majority that responded seem to be saying that the p7p is not unlockable by Mint until after 12 months service. A purported mint rep there is saying the same thing, not unlockable until after 12 months

I would think the Mint Mobile deal which includes a year of service for a lower price overall destroys this (if it's still available)

I'm not alone with the Pixel issues. Other family and friends also had similar issues with the Pixel, whereas they had no issues when they were using Samsung or iPhones. They all swore off Pixel because of the bugs. You're one of the few lucky ones, I suppose. The YouTube video from the tech reviewer is pretty good to see some of the fundamental issues.
Are you getting kickbacks for thinkPhones? I've had my P7 since its release and have had zero issues. Its a great phone.

I bought 6 P7s. All of my family has used it well. The fingerprint sensor is indeed like 85% reliable but it's fine.

For the amount I paid for the phone, with rebates and such, it was a fantastic deal and I am very happy with the phone to this day.

that said, I would not buy a p7 today, not at this price, when the p8 is about the same.

Good price drop. But $100 for 128GB storage is outrageous.

The Mint one costs around $410 once you factor in the $22+ in additional fees. The 5% cash back you can get on this Amazon one (w/Chase Amazon card) makes it so the difference is only around $40'ish. This one also comes carrier and OEM unlocked (bootloader) and the Mint one is completely locked. The Mint one can be SIM unlocked after 12 months, but their CS was indicating the bootloader would not be unlockable even after the lock period. Not sure if this is true, since T-Mobile usually allows bootloader unlocks on most phones.

So if any of that matters to you, then the extra $45 might be worth it to dodge the hassle. If not, I'd just get the Mint deal, since it comes with a year of service. I also think Google will drop the price even further right around Christmas, but I guess we'll see.

Another unhappy p7p user here. Absolute trash phone. Only two good features are camera and spam blocking. Battery life and charging speed are terrible. Bluetooth barely works. Android auto incredibly unstable. Wired sort of works, wireless doesn't work 75% of the time. Constant issues with touch screen not responding. Overall 2/10 phone. I paid $250 for it and still regret it.
