Motorola Inc jettisoned their cell phone business into "Motorola Mobility" in 2011. Google bought Motorola Mobility a year later for the patent portfolio and then sold the remain to Lenovo couple years later.
This guy had a pretty terrible experience [youtube.com] with the Pixel 7 pro. My experience with the Pixel 7 was also pretty awful, starting with the lame finger print sensor that still works less than 50% to this day.
I thought maybe the optical fingerprint sensor was to blame. But when I switched to the amazing Moto ThinkPhone with an optical fingerprint sensor, it works 100% instantly, so something is seriously wrong with Pixel (including the hated time-out feature when setting up fingerprints - it took me 30 minutes to set up a single fingerprint, not an exaggeration - WTF Google?? - and yet it still works less than 50% of the time.)
My recommendation is to buy the Moto ThinkPhone all day over the Pixel. the difference is night and day. The ThinkPhone made me fall in love with Android again, whereas the Pixel 7 made me hate it.
The best decision I ever made was moving the SIM card out of my Pixel 7 to the ThinkPhone.
The ThinkPhone is still on sales for $360, and is the steal of the year. I'm buying several for the family, include kids who wanted to switch to it from their iPhones after playing with it.

Or try coupon THINK150 as well.

Then I went back to Motorola and got the Edge plus 2022 for $200 and felt like a huge upgrade compared to the pixel 7 even if the pictures were not quite there. I wished my p7 had worked as well as it did for a lot of people here but honestly I don't miss it.
Face unlock is not secure, not compared to Apple FaceID which is far more secure.
Fingerprint unlock is the best option on the Pixel, if it worked properly.
I was heavily against the onscreen fingerprint sensor so I bought myself a Galaxy Fold 4 as it has a physical sensor on the power button. I helped my dad replace his old phone and he ended up with my cousin's Pixel 6 pro. he had a specific type of screen protector where it didn't hinder the finger print sensor. I had my dad register his finger and now the phone works with him barely touching the fingerprint area. It just unlocks with barely any percent of his finger on the screen. I miss the camera from the Pixel (I'm an Astrophotographer), but I'm probably sticking to my Samsung for a couple of years minimum.

The Bad: eSIM, if removed there is no way to get it back. Neither "Factory Reset" nor Flashing the Image will revive the eSIM.
The Ugly: the Google Support is nightmare. Even you if you get hold of an Engineer. They are typically some snubby kid from India who thinks you are dumb.
Overall I like older Pixels phone much better than the new ones with T processor.
Support sucks.

Your pixel may be a lemon and you should have replaced within the return period or exchanged under warranty.
Half the time, the fingerprint would not work. Battery would last no more than 16-18 hours just checking emails, texts, and light internet browsing (no videos).
I do love the picture and video qualities; however, night shooting is quite difficult with blurring; many times. Would I get Pixel phone again if my phone were to get damaged or lost? No, not yet until they fix the overheating and short battery issue. I'm paying too much for something that other phones could do better (Samsung, iPhone, OnePlus).
