+ $14.99 flat rate shipping. Rivals the $99 w/ 2x 3Ah deal at HD in the past.

If you've never used a hand held band saw it's like this when cutting metal. You can either use a reciprocating saw which is like having a strong two year old with a hack saw, near zero control or a band saw that cuts smooth and you have precise control the whole time. Unless there are space constraints, you'll probably never use your recip saw again. I bought this band saw when it first came out for $175, tool only, I got my money's worth and then some in it's use with zero regrets. At around $85 or $100 with shipping for the kit, if you don't already have a bandsaw, it's a no brainer.

Just bought this a couple of weeks ago for the same price without the battery. Worth every penny and I should have bought it sooner. It cut through 1/4 steel plate like it was butta.

man. as much as i love ryobi, this is one of those tools ill have to go expensive red brand with. the wide mouth version is super key for using it on more stuff. and they make hard mount kits for them to use them as tabletop bandsaws.

thats what rivals mean. it doesnt mean its better. or as good... it means it is in the competition with it. aka close to the same deal.

Um, that's exactly what rival means, "to equal or surpass."

Yeah, go ahead and pay extra money for basically the same tool (just rebranded and uses a different battery and ascetically different).

I got this a few years back from DT and it sat in my garage for like a year before I ever got a chance to actually use it. Had to repair a fence post at my in-law house and this saw came in clutch for cutting through those fence post. I was amazed how quick and easy it was. Although it sat collecting dust for a minute, when I needed it, it came through and I feel this is one of those tools that every DIY man should have in their tool cabinet.

Lol. I should have known that as soon as I brought up the mere suggestion of buying a tool made by another brand I would instantly get someone all butthurt over the mere thought, lol.

Its freaking laughable that you think it is the same tool just "rebranded", lol.

But even if ryobi and milwaukee were just rebranded versions of the same thing(lol)... This tool has a 2.5" wide and 2.5" deep cut channel. For the uneducated... That means it will cut something 2.5" wide, and can only cut 2.5" deep. Milwaukee has one with a 5" wide and 5" deep channel. If I need to cut something deeper or wider than 2.5"... This ryobi tool will not work. And guess what? I do need to cut something ider than 2.5"... I also mentioned that they make a stand for the milwaukee version, which is also a must have for me. But hey... You know what I should buy better than I do. Lol.

ahh yes... yourdictionary. the source we all use for definitions.

i also love that you cant tell the difference between using it as a noun or a verb.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rival

verb: : to act as a rival : COMPETE
transitive verb
1: to be in competition with
2: to strive to equal or excel : EMULATE
3: to possess qualities or aptitudes that approach or equal (those of another)

Does Milwaukee have the 5" wide/deep battery version? I see their compact battery version, M18, is good for 3 1/4" capacity but the 5" looks to be 120V AC. Genuinely curious, not trying to butthurt anyone.

It's pretty darn awesome. I'm all for saving money on Ryobi when I can... But there are some instances I can't., so I have to bite the bullet.

lol... Yeah my guy. I'm butt hurt. You are right about the diameter and all that. Good call out. But they are the same parent company TTI. That is all I am getting at. No doubt, I bet the same technology and mechanics go into the both of the tools with just minor changes. A tool is a tool no matter how you look at it. You like what you like and I can't knock that. Lets not forget that you did come on a Ryobi tool post and then stated you would opt to get his Red sibling instead. And thats your prerogative! But if you do not have anything to say about a decent tool, don't say anything at all.

buy whatever you want, but stop pretending that ryobi and milwaukee are the same tool, using the same mechanics. just because a company owns numerous brands, doesnt mean the brands are the same. TTI also owns dirt devil. husqvarna owns poulan. you dont see any loggers lugging around a poulan pro. lol. the only way you could possibly think they are the "same tool" is if you have never picked up a milwaukee tool in your life. because its just silly.

No. i came to a ryobi tool post and talked about why i couldnt use this tool and would have to opt for the expensive version. it was an on topic post. the only issue with what i said about it is that you got your feelings hurt. at no point did i bash the tool.

if it isnt obvious... i own primarily ryobi tools and only own a few milwaukee tools when the ryobi tools dont have the features i need. so its not about "liking what i like". its buying what i need.
