Bought one of these and the $60 and the better Govee Lyra for $90. Ended up returning this to get two to the Lyra. I didn't think I would notice a difference but the $90 Lyra was so much better. Liked the remote, the range of whites were much brighter, the base and build quality notably improved. If these were $40 they might work as a budget option. Otherwise go for the Govee Lyra. Some YouTube reviews say it's worth it, some say not. Having had both I'm glad I went with the better one (also on sale now). Note one of the reviewers said you can see gaps in the pole, this is only if you screw it together without forcing them flush more, which is easy to do. Love these lights. I have the Govee camera and lights that hook to the TV and these sync to that as well.

Curious how this compares to a standard Torch lamp. Got 2 in my living room I'd like to replace. They are using TP Link Smart Bulbs which are 1100 lumen. So I'm guessing they would get slightly brighter at 400 higher lumen. Also they obviously take up a small footprint. Anyone make this switch?

It'd be cool if the base was a right angle shape so it just goes right into the corner perfectly.

Been using this daily for over 2 years as an accent light in the living room and would buy again. We returned the Lyra, it looked tacky & exactly like a lighted toilet plunger 😂 These work perfectly with Home Assistant.

Why get a wall pointed one vs one that points at the roof like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Keepsmile-...119&sr=8-6

I owned one like that before and I could have it dim behind the couch. Used purple when watching Stranger Things; had a cool effect
I think I like this one better, not that I am rushing out to buy any of these fugly things. But 20 yr old me would be all over these things, in every room.... just like those old halogen $25 pole lamps that were all the rage in the 90's that probably started more home fires than cigarettes

I don't know if I'd ever get this accent light thing. But are these expensive lights using some app that you access via proprietary bluetooth with no open API? Or are they wifi devices that talk to the company's server?

Like, if the company goes under, are you stuck with less features?

This is what I went with as well, it was $90 on black friday/cyber monday, not sure if that deal happens regularly though

Quick search reveals there is an API accessible on your local network if you want to DIY and have some coding skills. Probably not formally documented.

30 watts for the Lyra and 24 for this one? seems absurdly high for an LED lamp

FYI, this outputs 1000 lumens, vs. the Lyra that outputs 1500 lumens.

For comparison, a single 60 watt incandescent light bulb outputs 800 lumens, and a single 100 watt light bulb outputs 1500 lumens.

So essentially, don't buy these expecting them to serve as functional room lights. Buy them for ambience only.

Just let them be poor. Most people I've met who habitually use this site aren't well off and are hoarders. I honestly rarely buy things here and just come for the comments and entertainment. People go crazy over saving $5 instead of finding ways to make more money. Lower middle class mentality.

Look at how much you hurt their fragile egos. That's why they downvoted you so much lol
So you're awesome and we're all poor hoarders? Thanks for sharing.

Amazon review comparing this with Lyra:

Get this (Lyra) and skip the Black Govee Corner Floor Lamp
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2021
Many of you are wondering about the difference between this lamp, the Lyra, and the cheaper black Govee Corner Floor Lamp (which I'll call the CFL). I got both, so let's talk about them. And the differences are more than the similarities.Similarities1. Both lights seem to share about the same brightness. I know the specs say the Lyra has more lumens, but in person at max brightness, they both look about the same.Differences1. The Lyra looks much nicer with a bit more weight, is silver, and comes with a remote that magnetizes to the unit. Itooks pretty classy actually. The remote let's you turn it off/on, adjust brightness, and switch through basic colors. The CFL is very lightweight and has no physical switches other than an on/off button. The controller on the CFL is inconveniently placed on the floor along the power cord.2. The Lyra seems to offer a few more prebuilt "Scenes" than the CFL. Not that you'll want to use most of them. But if you like scenes...3. About those Scenes, the Lyra seems to operate at a much smoother, slower pace. Which is what you'd want. For some reason, the CFL operates the same patterns at a much faster pace, leaving subtle light color changes (like gradient like shifts, cherry blossom drops, etc) looking jerky and just plain terrible. As in, not usable for ambiance. This seems to be a thing that plagues a number of other Govee lights I have. Not sure if its a fault in manufacturing, a fault in the firmware, but I've seen a number of other folks ask about the light transition speeds too. Annoyingly, Govee still hasn't added the ability to adjust the speed of the scenes on any device I've used, let alone these two corner lamps.4. The LED strip on the Lyra appears to have a denser array if LED modules than the CFL. This means you can see the individual LEDs on the CFL if you look at the light, but not so much on the Lyra.5. On the Lyra, all the Scenes where something is falling, such as a meteor or leaves, has the light emulate from the top then flow to the bottom. On the CFL, most of the scenes are upside down. Example, the Fireworks Scene on the Lyra has the lights starting on the bottom then shoot upwards. On the CFL, the lights start at the top and shoot downward. This is the oddest problem with the CFL, and the reason for 2 stars. Not sure if this is a manufacturer issue (where the LED strip was made backwards, or the firmware needs fixing. It is impossible for the consumer to assemble upside down as only one end has the electrical plug for the lights.6. Plan about 10 minutes to assemble either light. You'll have a bunch of tiny screws, but pretty simple. Instructions are good. That said, you can tell the construction of the Lyra is higher quality than the CFL.Final Review:The Lyra costs about 50% more than the more basic looking Corner Floor Lamp, though for that price you get a far more enjoyable to use lamp with light patterns that work smoothly and correctly.Overall, I recommend to buy this Lyra lamp and not the Govee Corner Floor Lamp.

i decided to get this instead. Lyra version (brighter), only silver color left and used DEC10 for 10% off, came out to a nice $82.

Hope everyone likes it!
