I was skeptical of these at first, but they were a similar price at the time so it seemed worth the risk.

I've had pretty good luck with them. So much so, that I ordered four more at this price.

Once you get the hang of setting them, it's relatively easy if the ground is soft. If the dirt is dry or hard, it's somewhere between difficult and impossible. I broke one jaw (of four) off a trap in dry ground.

I really like that it's easy to see if one has tripped, even at 50+ yards.

The key for me was to find the primary mole runs and to sufficiently push down the dirt into the run where the trigger rests. Pushing the dirt far down at the trigger point lets the jaws fully close around the run and ensures the mole is right between between the jaws when it trips.

Happy hunting!

I have tried several devices and methods to get rid of moles in my yard over years, this is the best one. Ordered 4 more for free shipping. Check youtube for tricks and how to set up.

I have a vole (or several) in one specific area of my front yard making tunnels. Maybe about a 300 sq. ft. area? How many of these traps would I want/need to be effictive in catching them?

Do you need any sort of bait? or just the trap? I'm looking to kill voles I believe.

I've been using the TomCat and the more expensive wiretek mole trap for years. The Tomcat is more of a pain to set up, but I catch far more moles with it than the wiretek.

I bought six of these and never had any luck with them. They're not as easy to set as the video shows, even in soft soil, so you'll likely be tearing up your yard. Had a lot of false triggers and you need to be sure you're setting the trap perpendicular to the tunnel. What worked for me is something called the GopherHawk. Super easy to set and I've never had a miss. Caught plenty of moles with that. It's what I'd recommend based on my own mole nightmare. Less of an impact on your yard as well. Great price though for those wanting to try this style of trap

if you have an actual mole problem, I'd spring for the $35 stainless steel mole trap, of this same design. They are very heavy, and work extremely well.

I bought these last year due to the price at the time being great. They are a bit finicky to get set up, but I have had luck with them. Just a bit of a pain in the @ss at times to get set correctly at times.
