Not saying it's a "bad" deal, but CCC shows this at $3.99 for the past year. Lowest historical price is $3.49 back in 2016. Not sure where $11.08 retail comes from.

It appears this is the usual price for these.

Plastic is great all around. It doesn't scratch, dent or ding softer materials. Ive had this exact square for years and only yesterday did the tip break off as a neighbor dropped a brick on it while building a new fence. Worth mentioning the width of a square is perfect for spacing fence planks. Just keep your neighbor away from both ithe square and bricks.

Full retail on this is $4.19. Anything over that is just the retailer inflating the price. You can usually find these for $4 any day of the week. Here it is again at AcmeTools [acmetools.com] for $3.99 as well. Pretty sure Swanson also sells a multi-pack for a few bucks more and it comes with multiple sizes plus a little handbook guide for measurements.

My mileage varied as the square was off by nearly 1/8"; I returned it and have stuck with metal squares since.

Could have been that I got a lemon, so just a heads up to check yours before return window ends.

I've had one of these a while and generally grab it over the metal options. It's not cold on the hands, lighter, and doesn't scratch things.
