"In general, lead is not used to make cast iron cookware. The reason for this is that lead has a much lower melting pot than iron. Iron melts at 1,535° C while lead melts at 327.5 °C. If lead was present it would boil away before it was cast in the same way the alcohol boils away when you cook with wine."

Didn't know measurement were by top diameter...good to know 👍
Seems like a dirty marketing move.

At $25, you can do better. If you're a Lodge die hard, it's close to fair. I use various brands. You can find 12" cast iron around $15, sometimes enamelled.

Well, regardless of if you think it is actually good to cook those items in this pan or not, if you re-read what I wrote, you can see I was simply giving people ideas on how big it is. I own 15 different cast iron pieces that I use regularly (virtually every day). There is no other pan I would use for half of a pack of breakfast sausage links, this one is perfect. I also don't make single burgers or grilled cheese, but if someone does, this pan will work just fine for that.
Make a small personal fruit or meat pie.
Must resist.

I think that's a good use. I recommend it for that. Perfect for two, or even a couple with small kids.
Getting a lid is costing more than the pan, something I don't understand
