I bought this last month when it went on sale at Adorama for the same price (they did put the price back to $1999 after the sale, and have now lowered the price again... they seem to have done this quite a few times this year). I did a lot of research on the this piano before pulling the trigger, and it consistently got great reviews and the concensus seemed to be that this is one of the best digital pianos in its price range. We received the piano less than a week after ordering. The box is huge and heavy, but the delivery company helped me bring it inside (they had to schedule a drop-off). It was easy enough to put together by myself, though my wife did help me lift the key assembly (by far the heaviest part) onto the lower assembly, but it could be done by one strong person.

The piano itself is beautiful! We have a lot of white decor and cabinets throughout our house, so it was a good fit. The key action and the keys themselves are very similar to a real piano (my mom is a piano teacher and I grew up surrounded by pianos), and the digital sounds are pretty phenomenal. I also use Logic Pro to create music for films, and I love that I can connect this full 88-key piano to my laptop with a USB cable or wirelessly through Bluetooth and use it with Logic Pro. Beats the heck out of using my 25-key midi keyboard!

I can't say enough great things about this digital piano. No, it's not (quite) the same as an acoustic piano, but considering how much lighter and easier to move it is (no professional movers needed... at 128 lbs. my wife and I can move it ourselves anywhere in the house, and can easily disassemble it), and the fact that I can use it as a MIDI keyboard or practice on it using headphones so I don't bother other people, it's FAR more versatile than an acoustic piano at a fraction of the cost.

I bought this and it came broken. Adorama has been giving me a hard time about a refund. Wish I had nice things to say but I don't.

just got the delivery and thanks to these threads, I opened the box and checked the keyboard before accepting delivery. sure enough, there were at least 3-4 keys permanently depressed with 2-3 additional keys that felt off.. UGH! Refused delivery ... calling adorama now .. hopefully this isn't too painful..

To all others -- before accepting delivery, be sure to open the box and check the keys

I bought one too, and it came in perfect condition.
The keys though stick before removing the protective wrap from the keybed you have to remove the protective wrap first and then check if the keys stick.

Purchased this deal (white CA49 from Adorama for 1350, incl. delivery) just before Christmas. Hunted around for a similar deal locally, but couldn't find one. FWIW, a local piano shop said that Kawai just made way too many white CA49s, and there are still several hundred nationwide floating around. Black and rosewood are long gone- the very last sold around Black Friday.

Before purchasing, I confirmed directly with Kawai that Adorama is an authorized seller. Delivery took a little over a week. Piano arrived new in the box and was absolutely pristine. Assembly was easy.

The piano itself is beautiful. It plays beautifully. I couldn't ascertain much, if any, difference from the updated CA401, which I played with at a local shop. The action is the same. I guess the CA401 has some updated samples and additional Bluetooth support, and that's about it. I tried out some Yamahas and Rolands too, and for me, Kawai felt the most authentic.

Amazing deal for a great instrument that typically costs over $3000, if you don't mind it in white. Fwiw, white is really nice. It's a compact instrument, and so the Liberace vibes are minimal. The bench is meh. I do plan on getting a light brown bench, which should tone the whiteness down a touch.

Could you please tell me which Shipping company did Adorama use to ship this? Did they contact you before the delivery date

Yup. Team Worldwide. They called to set up a day for delivery and called again when they were about 30 minutes out.
They were fine. Only one guy, though, and this thing is a good 150 lb in the box. So I had to help get it In the house. Also, the box was filthy. But came in pristine condition and works great, so no complaints here.

Terrific deal, ordered it even though I'm super not into the white color. Was tempted to get a CN29 in rosewood from Kraft Music online for $1299, but the Grand Feel Compact action on this CA49 seemed like the way to go. I want it to be as close to a real piano feel as possible, I'll mainly be using headphones, and $2000 was my budget I had settled on. The refresh model of this is the CA401 which currently goes for $3,100.

Hoping I won't get a broken one!
