I'd like to find an air fryer without a nonstick surface inside. I can understand why a lot of these have nonstick, but at those kind of temperatures there are definitely still some risks regarding nonstick surfaces and off gassing.

I agree with you on that, non stick cookware has linked to lot of health issues

The highest temperature this air fryer is capable of is 400°. Most non-stick coatings these days are rated for 500° before any degradation happens.

There are the toaster oven type air fryers which usually don't have non-stick touching the food but I think due to the way the basket-type air fryers function it only works well with a non-stick surface for the basket.

Yeah, that makes sense regarding the basket style, if there was a basket style with stainless steel, I'd probably buy that though. Actually, I wonder if they have a stainless steel basket that you can buy separately to replace the nonstick basket. Just a drop in replacement.

My Bella, analog one, 4.2 qt. That I had gotten on a deal just a year ago, failed today. Going with the warranty claim with Bella is a tedious process. They wanted so many photos, videos, receipts, and what was wrong. It took approximately 10 email back and forth before I would be issued a check for $20 purchase as that model is not available and they do not substitute or they just didn't give me a straight answer. Although warranty period of TWO years is reasonable, but it's a hassle dealing with them for $20 irem. They don't care. So beware !

Also, if you are just air frying few pieces of chicken fresh each time for 1 or 2 persons, go for no higher than 4 qt. A smaller would do better because hot air will be more efficiently used in smaller volume, and for quicker results. It will also save on unnecessary weR on the unit as well as saves energy.

I love my 4.2 qt. Bella Pro that a got a few months back for $18 at Best Buy (just a dial for temp and another dial for time).

I've used it for chicken wings, a few kinds of battered shrimp, pork chop, steak, and I'm sure a few other things. This digital one seems like a nice upgrade, but I don't know if I need it any bigger.

Who cares the outer covering is stainless steel. It's merely mentioned because the manufacturer knows people are looking for stainless cooking surfaces so they mislead by talking about the exterior.

Thats why i encourage return swaps if you know what i mean

Just gotta match something something

Thats what manufacturers deserve for making throwaway items with crappy reliability and having to jump through hoops for decent service/warranty
