Wouldn't the theif leave the car if they knew they were being tracked? People remove the speaker out of them so they can't be pinged by the thief.

Edit: nevermind, looking at the reviews, it looks like one box with 4 tags.
Probably won't work for your case. It won't track their path only see current/last known location. And the cat would need to be within 30 feet of an iPhone. Maybe if they were visiting a second family.

But yes the thief can still try to ping the device to locate it using the precision finder, but it will take some time to actually locate it even with the precision finder if you hide it well.
