I've got a AVR-X3300W from many years ago. What would this give me ? Do they now have a better UI atleast ?
I would imagine. Though can't say for sure. I am going from a 4810CI to this so, this thing had better have a different UI. lol. Mine is from 2010.

For those on the fence vs other others like Onkyo or pioneer. I do wish denon included dirac and wouldn't be surprised if they next generation does but I think the nice thing with this unit is the future proofing. You have 9 channels of amplification with 11 channels processed so you can add a 2 or 3 channel Amp to do 4 heights. Have 4 independent subwoofer controls. All of the hdmi ports are 40gigabit unlike the pioneer which has only a few. Also I know the pioneer locks you in on the crossovers. Plus denon will be releasing dirac bass control I believe next week. It is a paid upgrade but again just allows more future proofing.

I don't know about the rest of you but my previous avr was a denon 1911 which I got like 15 years ago. So what I mean to say is you don't normally upgrade these all that often and I feel this checks all the boxes.

The only 2 gripes I have are
1. I wish the dirac was included
2. I wish the volume on screen was nicer. Still looks like something out of the 90s lol.

Anyhow Def a good deal for anyone in the market

Really great price for AVR-X3800H. Don't need pre-out and 9.2 is good enough so should I keep the Onkyo NR7100 from last deal @ 529 with Dirac Live or get this... I am still with Onkyo but this is too good of a deal
NR71000 @ $529 is an incredible deal if you don't need more channels. Better value than this imo. Obviously this is more future proof.

If you're buying an Atmos audio/HT receiver, why wouldn't you use it with Apple Music? Unless you only use it for home theater and hate Atmos
I don't follow your question. Are you under the impression that the only reason someone is buying a receiver is for that one feature? If all you're after is Dolby Atmos, you have a ton of receiver options. Also, Atmos is one of many multi-channel and 360 format audio formats, and Apple Music is not the only streaming service that supports it.

eARC, two additional channels, 6 x HDMI 2.1 inputs, an extra HDMI output (3 total), 4 independent sub outputs and Dirac upgradeability. I'd say go for it and sell the X3300.

GUI and OSD overlay is about the same as the X3300.

If all I need is not more than a 7.1 setup, would the Yamaha A4A a better deal than this? Looks like the Yamaha has a better amp. Thanks.

Noticeable audio improvements with this model, using the same speakers? If so are you using audyssey or Dirac?

I already have an outlaw 5000 amp. Would it make sense for me to get the x4800h or x3800h?

Ok ok, I'm in for one. I can finally stop looking at receivers. I wish everybody luck on the rest of their journey.

I have the NR1700 on order for $599 and not sure I can see the justification for this at $899 for my use. Plus the Onkyo includes Dirac Live and on the Denon costs $350 to add it later.

I'll have a 5.1.4 setup soon and will never ever use pre-outs.

Comparison between the two [zkelectronics.com].
May be just wanted to hear this from someone other than me. Thank you
