Hollow knight one of the worst games I've ever bought in my life. Extremely confusing and you'll get lost nonstop running into the edge of the screen. Tried to get a refund but Sony sucks at refunds . I even hidden it from my games purchased history lol. 🗑️

Did I not explain myself clear enough ? It's a terrible game.
I mean no, not really...

1) "Worst game you've ever bought" - looks like you haven't played many games then.

2) "Extremely confusing" - I can understand some confusion because the game doesn't exactly hold your hand and tell you exactly where to go, but as I recall most of the time it's not too difficult to get on the right path by actually reading what the characters say in the game. Also, just by sheer exploration, you usually get to where you need to go. Lastly and most importantly, why wouldn't you at least use an online guide to get pointed in the right direction? There's no shame in that.

3) "You'll get lost nonstop running into the edge of the screen" - I think I recall maybe 1-2 occasions where this situation occurred for me in the ENTIRE game. All I did was run back the way I came from and moved on... Never really thought about it again. You're making this way too dramatic.

I'm going just going to assume that you generally may not like some of these types of Metrovania style games because they won't hold your hand and guide you every step up this way. You're meant to explore/discover and find main/optional paths.

Curious how this works. Can I purchase and write these codes down to gift to someone for Xmas? Or will those codes be unredeemable by then?

I have Steam Codes from Humble Bundles I bought 10+ years ago that are still usable.

Unless something has changed recently, you will get a code for each game and they shouldn't expire.

I played video games all my life and I own a huge library of Big budget to indie games. One of the worst it definitely is. It's very confusing . Also I used a guide online and it was still a huge headache. Only 2 times ? Well pat yourself on the back. I got stuck like 50 times before I gave up from motion sickness of running around the same damn spot in countless circles.

One of the higher rated games you'll find on Metacritic. You're in the minority. It sounds like you grew up in the "cupcake generation" of gamers. Some games won't hold your hand for you.

Edit: Spider-man 2 has the same review score

That's a shame. Sorry it didn't work out for you. I played this on the Switch and I'm almost certain I got 95% of the way through and stopped for a bit because I got stuck on where I needed to go next, but I stubbornly did not want to use any guide.

Instead of finishing on Switch, I plan to obtain a copy for Steam and play through it again on my SteamDeck OLED because for me, it was an incredible experience.

Can the hollow knight from this bundle be played on Nintendo switch or MacOS?
Hollow Knight, as well as about half of the other games, are all compatible with Mac.

Clearly just a difference of taste. I have a hard time remembering and getting lost in virtual spaces, 2D and 3D, but I love exploration. I had to play Hollow Knight with the compass and the map up nearly constantly and yet it's still one of my all-time favorites. I also love Metroidvanias, and for my money, HK is masterclass. I say that as someone who can rarely finish them because the boss fights just get too difficult for my ability and reflexes.

Dang only 95%? I think I got to around 113% on Nintendo switch and Xbox.... But then again, I'm pretty biased. I'm actually about to give it a go on my OLED SD as well. I was just poking fun at the start of this comment btw. I think my first playthrough took over 100 hours. Honestly, HK is probably one of my top 3-5 games of all time. I (and many others) are anxiously awaiting Silksong's release, how about you?

No worries, I had to play with the compass a majority of the game as well. I would only swap it out when doing boss fights. I think part of the fun in HK is getting lost and discovering a new area with the beautifully themed music and different color palette/ambiance.

I actually really enjoyed bloodstained as well. I initially 100%ed it on the switch (when it was still janky before all the performance patches) and still enjoyed it. I started playing it again the on the steam deck and wowee zowie it looked and ran so much better!
