As always with Google Store deals, you have the option of joining Google One 2 TB at $9.99 for one month before purchase, to add 10% in Google Store credit to the deal after the order has shipped.
For example, if you purchase the Pixel 8 Pro 128GB at $599.40, you can also spend $9.99 to get $59.94 in Google Store Credit.
You can cancel your Google One subscription at any time.

Some report that joining Google One Premium (2TB) will give you a benefit to jump to Google Play Points Gold. YMMV - I upgraded my 100GB membership to 2TB nine days ago and no such benefit has been provided. Google Support is unable and/or unwilling to help.

Edit edit: Firebase is owned by Google, so it is in the same eco-system. Still a strange way to offer a deal with the account access, but this deal is through Google, or at least an owned subsidiary.
Edit: this is not through Google, if you click on the link and select redeem it wants to provide access to a domain called firebaseapp.com, which according to ICANN isn't Google owned, just hosted.
For those of you looking into this to determine if it is a scam, look up the WHOIS on firebaseapp.com and play.withgoogle.com. This is Google via MarkMonitor, LLC Registrar. MarkMonitor is an industry leader in enterprise brand management and protection against counterfeiting. If you're tech/security minded, you can dive down the rabbit hole via https://mxtoolbox.com/whois.aspx and https://talosintelligen
The withgoogle.com domain being owned by Google is more meaningful as a positive signal. In any case, as others have reported, this promo works and seems to be legit, but this is still very irresponsible behavior from Google. They're effectively training people to be more susceptible to phishing attacks. The Editor Notes here are dangerous and suggest that Firebase domains alone indicate that Google runs the site.
Examples of some random apps on firebase domains that are obviously not Google and instead from random devs:
https://react-quick-food.firebaseap
https://movies-finder.firebase
https://electrofocus-website.firebas
https://devmarizer.fire
I would plead with people to maintain a strong sense of skepticism. I could spin up my own site under a domain like "promosbygoogle.com" and host a firebase app that does nothing other than steal information. Sure, the new domain here wouldn't appear to be from Google, but the Firebase domain would. Please don't let that be all you need to see to trust something.

might be a 1 time use
Just started my return and purchased a new one. If it was just a few dollars I wouldn't bother but roughly a $250 difference.
Also the official 8 pro case is on sale at amazon. $5 cheaper than the google store price.
