I received an email earlier today from T-Mobile saying that one of my lines (which currently has an iPhone XR) was eligible to upgrade to a new 5G phone for free to better take advantage of the network. I am on the Simple Choice North America Promo plan with several free lines so this seems like it must apply to a lot of plans.
The fine print in the email (see images in link) made it seem like it was limited to just the Moto G 5G (meh), so I reached out to T-Force via Twitter to ask if any other phones qualified. They confirmed that the iPhone SE 3rd Gen, Nokia G310, Nord 300, and REVVL 6/6X also qualified, but that you had to complete the transaction in store.
I had to go to the mall tonight so stopped by the T-Mobile store after confirming that my account was annotated and the SE was in stock and was able to upgrade to the 128GB black model for the $35 support fee and tax. Bill credits seem to be in process.
You may want to reach out to T-Force to confirm and have them annotate your account as that definitely helped at the store.
I was able to take advantage of the
June 2022 deal for another line that had an old iPhone on it so it's been nice to get a couple upgrades for the kiddos.
Hope this helps a few people.

Do the bill credits stop if I switch her (eligible line) to an iPhone 15 after I get the new SE and move my line to the SE?

These kids are spoiled nowadays lol

This one is to try to get users out of old lte devices and put them on 5g devices.
It would be good if it works at Costco to qualify for the shop card
