Fender requires minimum orders of their individual lines to carry that particular series, and that often means getting models that don't sell well in your demographic.

Additionally, they have hard minimum advertised prices for their instruments.

The loophole for a dealer is marking the listing as used in mint condition and selling it below MAP.

I would hazard a guess that these are new in box.

I bought an HSS strat last time this deal was up and it was new in the box. Great guitar also. I honestly can't tell the difference between this MIJ and my American Fenders.

This is not only true, this is done with other brands and dealers. Often just said dealer just selling off overstock. I've taken advantage of this countless times over the years. Conditionally sold labeled as used, B-stock, Floor models, demos,etc. Great way to buy new! Clue to this situation is no quantity limits mentioned. Quite the opposite of experiences buying new from Guitar Center and getting floor models. All this absolutely true from my personal experiences.

Other deals definitely to be had if you call-in or email as well. Miami-Guitars was doing 30% off in-cart for AmPro II [miami-guitars.com] and Ultra strats [miami-guitars.com] for Black Friday, the sale ended already but it turns out you can call or email them to get a pretty close price.

I was quoted $1550 for just leaving an Ultra strat in my cart
